A quick search didn't yield any results, so I'm posting this.
I have a 2007 328xit with idrive/nav/ etc.
I paired my razr successfully..."normal" calls are always just fine.
But if I get into a dead zone and lose the signal, nothing I can do will end the call except turning the razr itself off.
This is the case whether the razr's in my pocket or loose in the car, or in the cradle.
Anybody else see this? Any ideas?
And BTW this is my first BMW since my '67 1800TI. I love it.

I just push the phone button on the wheel to end a call.

Hmm. I thought I'd tried that, but maybe I didn't. I do know that I couldn't do anything with the idrive phone control.
Thanks. I'll make sure I drive into a dead area today, to test.

I've run into this problem as well. The only way I've known to resolve this is to end the call manually with the phone button on the steering wheel if I know I'm going to hit a dead zone. Otherwise, I've had to power my phone on/off to get it to work.

If you have I Drive you can push the nob down and it will say end call on the screen. Then you just have to push it down again to end it.

Yeah, I know that. My question came from the fact that in my car, with my phone, when I lose the connection, the i-drive "end call" selection does not work. Not at all! I can select and push as many time as I like ... I'm just taken back to the active call display..then when I begin the "end call" sequence the same thing happens....
Please note that this circumstance is ONLY when I've had an ordinary connection, and my phone drops the call before before either I or the other person hang up (in whatever way).
If the call's in progress and the signal disappears, I land in an endless loop so far as the idrive commands are concerned.
It looks as though the steering wheel button will kill a call under those circumstances -- but since I only tried it once, I can't be sure. Going out to talk in a dead spot seems a strange endeavour, but I'll be trying it at least a couple of times more.
What seems strange to me is what looks to be a simple "toggle" signal (the idrive controller is pushed down; the steering wheel button is pushed) should have a different effect depending on which switch sends the signal. If so, maybe it's because the idrive signal is interpreted as a response to a prompt, but the steering wheel signal is "blind." (Hey..I spent 25 years programming computers...)
Beats me, but I'd love a solution since I live in the country and 1/4 mile dead spots are not rare. So I'm hoping the a few more tests with the steering wheel button will show that it works.

Just dropped my 335 off for phone cradle installation. I have have been unable to end the call after dropping a call in a bad cell... Resulting in lock up and inability to be called or to call out and resume the conversation.
Dealer told me there is a software upgrade for the 335 that should fix this. They are already on version 20 something. I will let you know if this fixes the problem after I drive it through some bad cells next week.

I have never run into this with my Cingular RAZR, but I when I tried to pair a second RAZR (V3i this time), it worked fine at first, then when I turned off the car and restarted it, the V3i goes "Connect" then 5 seconds later "Disconnect" and this repeats constantly. This is with the other RAZR turned off.
