M3Bill 01-04-2007, 10:08 PM What exactly is the event?
///M3///M5 01-04-2007, 10:10 PM I RSVPed.
QuickSilv3r 01-04-2007, 10:11 PM What exactly is the event?

PDWebb 01-04-2007, 11:11 PM I work for Taylor BMW now (what used to be Hank Aaron Jag/LR for 2 yrs)
I just found out about the move they are doing. You work for them at their current Washington road location?
What do you do there? I was up there today.
CVGTURBO86 01-05-2007, 01:46 AM do you have to be apart of the BMWCCA to come?
joecoolinatl 01-05-2007, 01:56 AM i used to live in evans. off north belaire in deerwood

I work for Taylor Jag/LR until BMW makes their move, then I'll be working for BMW. I basically just transferred over from Hank Aaron to Taylor.
Part-time detail ftl :rolleyes :(
BruceH 01-05-2007, 08:53 AM You don't have to be a CCA member to attend. The event is more than a meet n greet as a BMW factory tech is giving a presentation.
Taylor BMW has been very supportive of the Chapter's efforts to hold more events "downstate". Taylor (along with both Uniteds, Bridgestone, Harrison, BMW CCA National, BMW Foundation and many more) has also generously donated numerous items for the Chapter party on 1/13.

JB 330ci 01-05-2007, 09:34 AM I'll see if i can make it out there
Mitchy540 01-05-2007, 10:36 AM I wish you guys were doing the event on the weekend!! :confused
GeorgeM3SMG 01-05-2007, 11:15 AM I wish you guys were doing the event on the weekend!! :confused
Damn. I was mentally planning a nice run down I-20 until I got to this post and checked the date.:(
Mitchy540 01-05-2007, 01:42 PM I don't know why anyone plans a car event during the week. Its hard enough getting home after work.
BruceH 01-05-2007, 02:36 PM Mitch,
For what it's worth the Chapter Board feels the same way as you. The Augusta group seems to like weeknights. Would you have gone if it was on a Saturday?
Bruce
///Mshenanigans 01-05-2007, 04:07 PM i had thought of going as well, but during the week is pretty inconvenient for me as i am in my martial arts class most evenings. so, consider me as being in favor of possible weekend events

Which martial arts?
M3Bill 01-05-2007, 04:19 PM Which martial arts?
The type that thin people can do....that disqualifies you.

Hmmm.. My fat martial arts can beat your skinny marital arts any day of the week. :D

///Mshenanigans 01-05-2007, 05:07 PM Which martial arts?
it's called tang soo do. it's a korean martial art based on the traditional korean martial art of soo bahk do, and a couple of chinese and japanese styles as well.

well, bill, the skinny part comes from the minimum of 8 hours a week of intense work, and i didn't start out that way. it started as a chunky person martial art for me...

The Marital part was intentional.. :D

I think I have seen it before. I took Shotokhan, Sim-do, Hapkido, Judo... Took some street fighting classes, A couple green beret classes (Military Brat), Small circle jujitsu, etc.. My focus was on limb desctruction, and pressure points. Worked out 3-4 hours a day.. And then got dropped on my neck.. :mad

My comment was primarily directed at Karl....he is rather plump, if you know what I mean....so the thought of him engaging in any type of martial art (or marital art, for that matter) really humors me.
:laugh
Mitchy540 01-05-2007, 05:28 PM Hiya Bruce! Good to talk to you! Yes, I would certainly try and make the next BMWCCA event if it is on Saturday or Sunday. :)

BruceH 01-05-2007, 06:31 PM Hey Mitch... ALL of the Board planned events are on weekends. The event you referenced is in AUGUSTA. As a rule Board planned events are NOT on weeknights.

jeeeez, i was hoping someone would give me a nice lie to make me feel better about the....place.....that we live :rolleyes
dude, if i coulda kept it, and gotten another car for a dd, i would have. but that thing was in no way working out well as a daily. and unfortunately, i had to make a decision between that and a less intense car. i miss it, but think i'll be getting another one in a few months maybe, and start from scratch...most of the work on my alpine was already done when i bought it and i want to do all my own mods this time around.
BruceH 01-05-2007, 07:38 PM I was underscoring the location for Mitch 'cause I really didn't believe that he knew that the meeting was in Augusta.
///Mshenanigans 01-05-2007, 07:44 PM oh, sorry, i didn't mean that seriously, i was making a feeble attempt at mocking the place that i live
Born2Slow 01-05-2007, 10:23 PM I will try to make it. I just moved here and I am still getting situated with the house and work!

PDWebb 01-31-2007, 05:12 PM Am I going to still see a few of you tomorrow evening at this?
///Mshenanigans 01-31-2007, 05:44 PM nope
was over there today though, and saw that they have an ///M6. yes. maybe i've been missing seeing it when i've been there, but today was the first time i've seen it. gorgeous
JB 330ci 02-01-2007, 08:19 AM Am I going to still see a few of you tomorrow evening at this?
Yea, I'll be there at least. But most people who come to these events are not forum members anyway.
BTW, Augusta isn't that bad. :stickoutt
I was born in Evans and seen it grown tremendously.
