so im driving in my 318 you guys prolly know my mods by heart now from me sayin it so much well im at less than a quarter tank of gas and this jamiacan guy in his slk has his music blastin weavin in and out and i thought id catch up just for fun. so i do and brakes to wait for me from seeing my bright lights coming up quick. Its around 50 or 55 mph and im in third and thats prolly my worst spot to be in and we take off pretty much the same time and since i was at a bad spot he gets a half a car pretty much off the bat and all through third he doesnt move an inch from half a car then i shift into fourth and he begins to get a car and a half on me and then he stops and so do i. Not so bad i think. Again we go at it this time at around 60 or 65 in third which is a pretty mean spot for my car and we stick even the entire time and by the end of third he stops and so do i and i make a u turn and head home. Pretty cool run i thought, jus like to share even tho i didnt win just cool goin at it and not getting destroyed. oh and a few times i was right behind him at a light he was first in line at and he would gun it and i would too right after him and he would just fly isnt mercedes known for their torque?

The SLK230 is a 7-second to 60 car, nothing too fast.

i kno the car isnt fast and i did get beat but im just letting you guys know the story.......well anyways i have a custom cai with heatshield and ram air hose running from under gril, bosal catback exhaust, jim c chip, spare tire and jack and tool kit removed, engine rebuilt a little over 10k miles ago, my car is a 5 speed and im always running octane boost fuel additive on 93 octance and mobile 1 10w30, the middle thru end of third gear of my car is pretty strong just the begining of third sucks and as soon as the car gets moving its not too slow. Being able to shift at 6900 rpms is also a big plus in the 318 cuz it loves the rev and you fall higher in the power band than before when switching gears higher.
