btw. they insist that UPS ground shipping is not available to Hawaii. They refused to even check on it when I asked. mofos. I currently have 3 other items coming in via UPS ground from other stores.

I had one on the mainland, but sold it once I got here. HPD uses laser, and by the time it detects it (and it will the first time) you have already been zapped. Unless you have a laser jammer, it isn't of much use.

Exactly! My V1 goes off when the cops are gunning me. By that time it is too late. They can hit you from 1400 ft away.

not sure which one my friend uses on his 996, but it definitely works. Gotta find out from him. In the last issue of European Car they did a test and mentioned laser jammers, and there was one unit that stood above the rest.

dirsh - return the V1 via UPS Ground and let them know their service is as good as their product.

What has saved me more than anything else, and will out perform any device you can purchase is a speedometer!

Laser jammers are definitely legal - the FCC regulates RF signals and hence radar jammers are illegal in most if not all 50 states (don't quote me on that). However, the FCC does NOT regulate optical transmissions (i.e. LIDAR).
As for V1 in Hawaii, it hasn't saved me yet, got a ticket but I didn't have the V1 up (wife's car), normally run with it in the M5. It has saved me a TON of times on the mainland though.

I have the blinder....in my one experience, it seems to have been doing its job....coming down Red Hill. It went off and I couldnt even see the officer yet....slowed down and there he was at the bottom of the hill.

Last month must've had a rookie doing it....I was watching him when he decided to try and gun my car......from the side!!!

That was when i was breaking in my 4.27:1 diff, my most recent stretching there was in 5th gear @ 6k moving at 130 mph...the 4 was banging big time!

I was on the H3 leaving the base going towards ths Pearl City and decided to go for it in the dumbest place possible.

Coming out of the big tunnel I left it in 5th but i put it on the floor.... at around 130ish...i let out of it realizing where i was....never will i do a top speed run there again! That time I was just lucky not to end up in jail....

thats where my fastest speed has come from on the island... comn out of the tunnel on H3, pearl city bound, but I had JUST come the other direction, scoping for cops.... 152 in my M3, at least thats what the speedo said... I know there is some error, just not sure how big..

My highest on the Isl has been 155 in the e46 M3. That was the one where Flex led and we hit the straight aways. Flex was first, Cal was next and I was after. I remember Kimo was following after me. I belive the 150 in your M Cal, since I was doing 155 and didnt close in on you.

I got the lidatek LE-30

I know for a fact that It has saved me once. Thing starts beeping off, so i slow down, didnt even see the cop. He pulled me over anyway and said i was going "pretty fast but not too fast" the LE-30 saved me. Other than that once I have been fortunate to avoid being laser gunned.

the lidatek saved me once on H1. I was doing a little too fast for the posted limit gave me plenty of time to slow down. I still got pulled over and a ticket for speeding. Since he had no reading there was not a # over. It got thrown out in court. My valentine went off but it would have been too late. I do however use it when I am in the mainland traveling. It has saved me over there a couple of times,
