So today, I went to umnitza, the service was actually really GREAT, thanks guys!:buttrock

But anyways, I was on 680 N , and I saw about 4-5 cops with radars ( thank god I have v1), I was wondering is this NORMAL? it's a wednesday.

There seemed to be no cops around san jose, but right when i hit fremont, it was cops galore, also on the way back.

everyone get a v1, it saved me from a bunch of tickets:redspot

Pretty rare. I usually fly on 680.

EDIT: This is on my side of the hill. I don't venture to Fremont much.

Funny I was playin all over the area for the last two weeks in our stang. Drove the 680 corridor twice, and did not see any unusual cop activity. The only place I saw crazy cop activity was hwy 1 from 156 interchange to Monterey. They had a car-mounted radar unit working at hwy level, and 4-5 motorcycle cops on the overpass ready to tag the radar hits. I observed this for two or three days in a row the week before Christmas.

That week I was driving a cosmos black on black 97 328 iS with no front plate, but no tint either, keeping up with traffic. Cops paid no attention to me. :buttrock

If you still have your old lights I may be interested. I'm going HID soon, just need to sell off some extra car parts laying around in storage for the money.

I just got some new Angel Eyes for my car that are 4500k ( same as my old ones) I put on some 3000k, but didn't like them, so i made a little exchange with umnitza:buttrock.

I have 2 HID bulbs, but i THINK one is messed up, i went ahead and bought some new HIDs for those though, and already installed th em.

is there ever going to be a day when a cop in the bay area actually fights crime and not sit on his fat @ss eating donuts from the local krispy kream and waiting for a speeder to drive past him or pull someone over for a front licence plate ticket.. haha..

Fighting actual crime doesn't generate any revenue.

hey bro, i would have called you honestly, but I had work at 2, and I left at 11:45, I would then have gotten there around 12:30, then I would have needed to leave. And didn't want to be late for work, OR have to leave as soon as you got there.

I might make a little trip down to Umnitza in the near future.

On 880/680, I rarely see cops out with radar. They like to sneak up behind you and tail you for a bit.

Shouldn't be a problem for me anymore. My record is clean and its going to stay like that because of my new gears.

4k rpm in 5th gear @ 80mph. No cruising at 80 for me anymore.

I was going over the Altamont in my truck Weds., about 9am and while going down the hill (towards Tracy, doing 65) I noticed up in the air there was a plane flying around in the same pattern.
I thought then that it was the good 'ol CHP Plane, but you never know.
So I kept driving the speed limit and I came up on a Acura TL and all of the sudden he taps his breaks.
So I go around (still doing 65) and about a thousand yards up on my left, there was a Hwy Patrol back in behind this hill.
As I passed there were 2 more behind him.
As I went over the next hill, there were 3 more on the side of the road that had people pulled over, sure enough, it was that dreaded CHP Plane that NO radar detector will ever detect. :mad

Sooooooo, watch the sky too guys, especially on the Altamont, that's where I've seen them used before and was even nailed there myself MANY years ago in my THEN 240z.

Actually k-dog. V1 pics up the Ka band from the sky. It just fluctuates in position. On the way back up from Dubfest A helicopter was pacing us and the arrows on the v1 would shoot everywhere.

Helicopters shoot radar and laser.

Planes, that patrol, use the mile markers.

I know. :(

be on the lookout for tully road/capital expressway now a days. today 2 of my friends got pulled over for no reason and hoods popped. one got sent to state ref because the cop was a dumbass and doesn't know how to read carb stickers. he had carb stickers for the 2 items he modified on his car and the cop didn't know how to read it or match them up so he gave my friend a ticket anyways. another friend of mines got impounded for an engine swap. TULLY ROAD FTL.

saw a cop presenting himself "unmarked" on 580 near livermore today parked on perpendicular to one of the 580 freeways probably lasering cars. luckily my friend drove by at only 70mph so the cop didn't follow to ticket us. pretty dirty though, his lights were off and we only saw him because he pressed the brake pedal for some reason when we were driving towards him at about 300 feet away.
