Guys:
I need someone good to help me get rid of a chemical odor coming from the carpet (not mats) inside the car.
I'm not doing this myself!
Any good recommendations for someone in South County area?
The Hammandcheese detailer doesn't do interiors, so I'm looking for a good reference from those who have used a detailer here.

thanks,

What kind of chemical odor is coming from the carpets and do you know why? Most likely we can take care of your problem.

JERRY: (sniffing) Boy, do you smell something?
ELAINE: Do I smell something? What am I, hard of smelling? Of course I smell something.
JERRY: What is it?
ELAINE: I think it’s...B.O.
JERRY: What?
ELAINE: It’s B.O.! The valet must have had B.O.
JERRY: It can’t be. Nobody has B.O. like this.
ELAINE: Jerry, it’s B.O.
JERRY: But the whole car smells!
ELAINE: So?
JERRY: So, when somebody has B.O., the “O” usually stays with the “B.” Once the “B” leaves, the “O” goes with it.
(both stick heads out windows, attempting to get some fresh air)
(they stick their heads back in the car, smell the “O” again and stick heads back out windows)

Stereo O:
Perhaps you can check this out- thanks for your interest.
The smell seems to be a typical BMW carpet smell, according to yet another detailer I spoke to yesterday. He didn't think that any cleaning could rid the odor.
It is slightly acrid, slightly rubbery or chemical smelling.
The carpets are really clean and I don't know if this is something BMW owners learn to live with since it is slight and not overpowering. I replaced my vent filters already so I know that this is not due to filter issues.
If however, you have any experience with these model cars in carpet or car chemical odors and can offer a solution, I would welcome that.
I'm not sure where you are based in OC, but if you p email me we can exchange contact info to pursue this issue further.
thanks,
