As the thread title says, I picked up a Cosmos Metallic Black on black M3 convertible yesterday. Previously leased to a doctor for 7 years and was absolutely babied (service records are entertaining to say the least!) from a local dealership. The car is in excellent condition with only a few nicks, 35k miles, sport package, and many options. Also came with a hardtop, hardtop stand, and a set of barely used Blizzak winter tires. I've owned a MKIV Supra for the past 3 years and have always been a fan of the M3. Only setback is that it's an automatic but it's going to be my daily driver so that's probably better anyway. I look forward to meeting other enthusiasts like myself and learning more about this great car!
Mods planned for the near future:
Basic Maintenance
Angel Eyes w/ HIDs
OEM clear turn, side, and rear lenses
Any other rec's?

I'll post some pics up as soon as I'm able.

Pics man! ;)

Sounds like you found yourself a stunner.

Yeah USA was the only place to get auto-boxed M3's.

Your 99 model has amber indies?

Very nice find...

the automatic isn't as bad as some of the granny tranny bashers would have you believe, it's awfully nice in traffic

Love to see pics, too

Thanks for all the compliments. Am I able to upload pics on here, I recall reading somewhere that you have to have 20 or so posts to be able to post pics?

If by amber indies you mean the lights for the turn signals, side markers, and taillights, I'm not sure yet because I haven't taken them off to look.

Very nice, congrats! Just make sure you do the coolant and brake fluid swap religiously!

You will love it for sure. I have a 98 Cosmos (triple black!) with 112,000 miles and it still turns heads. Congrats!

i think he was referring to the actual plastic housings that the bulbs fit into. their color can be determined with a quick glance to the side of the car. :)

not sure whats been done in terms of maintenance on your car, but most people start modifying with the suspension on these cars. there are lots of aftermarket options out there for basic springs & shocks that can make these cars much more fun and tight feeling. i got my H&R sport springs with Bilstein sport shocks set-up all brand new for $730. you can do a little research on this by using the search function.

Ok gotcha, in that case they're the ambers, which I plan on replacing with the OEM clears soon. I plan on changing up the suspension towards the end of this year thanks to lack of sufficient funding right now! I haven't really researched any of that stuff too much so I have no idea what setups are best.

You ased for some recommended modifications. My first one would be to lower it. A lowered and well planted bmw looks so much more aggressive and really looks the part.
