View Full Version : DynoJet in Raleigh?
Tanks95 12-30-2006, 06:50 PM Hello all,
I am looking for a shop that has a dynojet dyno and has experience with M3’s , or have done an M3 before. I say that cause here in Fayetteville there are none that have any experience with M3’s or BMW’s for that matter, as far as dyno pulls go. I am guessing the Raleigh area would be my best and closed bet?
Thanks in advance
William
PirateJake 12-31-2006, 03:18 AM sorry, i can't really help you... but

Tanks95 12-31-2006, 03:56 PM thank you!
mcclaskz 01-01-2007, 09:48 PM I have dynoed my M3 at BnT performance in Wilmington. They do a great job. I bring my own T hooks for them to put in the frame rails. I will be going back soon to redyno.
m3Raleigh 01-01-2007, 09:51 PM we use Carolina Automasters in Durham.
Fissionx 01-02-2007, 05:25 PM Haywood Performance in Raleigh uses a mustang dyno. I plan on going there once i do a valve adjustment. Check out nceuro.org too

Are they set up to do tuning on BMWs or strictly just dyno runs?
mcclaskz 01-04-2007, 10:36 PM I don't know, GSM does my engine work and setup.
dmb882 01-06-2007, 01:57 AM I've been to haywood twice. Randy helped me with tuning my car (via piggyback). I'll be going back once I get it put back together.
$75 for 3 pulls.
Tanks95 01-07-2007, 10:09 PM What about Motorsport Connections in Winston-Salem?

What about them?
If I were you and wanted a dyno I'd just go to somewhere in Fayetville. Nothing special about dynoing an m3.

Yea, you say that. I have spent over $250 in dyno fees in Fayetteville and haven’t gotten one done right yet. I haven’t been to a shop yet that had a clue! They either don’t know how to strap it down or don’t know how to / or want to hook up the clips to receive the spark signal to get RPM's.
You sound like i did two weeks ago "what could be so hard about an M3?" Yea, well i am going to drive two hours to get it done right.
*BTW i have seen in the past 5 years in Fayetteville: 2 yes Two E36 M3's.

Ah ok your coming from bad experiences. For tieing the car down they wrapped around my rear camber arm. Right or wrong it worked fine. For ignition you just put the clip over one of the coil wires. Forgot which one but there's only 3 so one of them will give you signal.

I thought there are 6 coils? One for each plug? I could be wrong.

Correct but to pick up rpm they only need to see one of the pulses. Each coil has 3 wires; 12volt, ground, pulsed ground. You want to attach to the pulsed ground to see the rpm.

+1
i've done WAY too damn many pulls on their dyno...they have plenty of experience dyno'ing M3's ;)
Billdo 01-19-2007, 09:48 PM I wouldn't put my bike on the dyno at Carolina Auto Masters. :mad
Mine is going on RPM's in Garner tomorrow.:)

Actually they use a DynoJet. They just work on Mustangs ;)
I've had my car dynoed 3 times at Haywood. But sadly they are moving to Benson.
