I have a Lidatek 30. I was being very careful on my way home from my hockey game last night but when the E39 and another car went by I bumped it up to their speed and followed them, about 80-ish IIRC.

My V1 and LiDE-30 went off simultaneously. I hover the brake so I hit it quick but the others took about 3-5 secs before they saw the cop. I assume they had no detectors.

I was pretty sure we were going beyond most cops buffer speed so I'm guessing the jammer worked.

Dont we know some cops we could test this with ?

Didn't they test jammers on mythbusters ?

ive heard that they work well but they only give you like 3-5 sec to slow down before the shut off

It jams laser (actually lidar) guns, will not jam radar. Radar jammers are illegal because they transmit a frequency and are regulated by the FAA I believe. The laser jammers send out a laser echo that give the gun a error reading, once it detects a laser signal it kicks in for 5 secs and then it resets for 30 secs.

I installed a Lidatek 30 on my E36 M3....horizontally behind the kidneys. My BIL is a trooper and we tested it....didn't work. Lidatek said that there can be nothing between the unit and the gun. I tried to mount it in the radiator hole below the main part of the bumper but couldn't get it mounted....so I gave up.

So Lidatek is a waste of money Bruce?

Not sure. Anecdotal evidence suggests they work. My testing was far from scientific (however the unit would go off, but the speed was locked isntantly). I wouldn't take anything more from my post than proper install appears to be critical to the success of the unit. I really wanted to try again as the amount of laser traps in DFW was going up, but I moved and laser is not real common out here yet.

Yah but they are sneaky, refering to the HP hidden along 20 at night. They use that new wall to hide well at night. I dont have a RD so I'm not sure if they run radar or laser.

We need to find a Texas police forum and get some insider info.
