So, I'm slowly getting tired of indoor paper targets. I have reason to believe that there are open outdoor ranges in SC - perhaps the upstate. Anyone know of any?

Lurking eh?

Yeah, I shoot a bit. There's an open outdoor range in Whitmire. It's off of I-26 on the 3rd Newberry exit coming from Columbia. Take a right off the exit (there's a Citgo to the left across the interstate) and just ride for a few miles. You'll cross a bridge over a swamp/creek, and immediately you'll see the Indian Creek Rifle Range on your right. Short brown sign on the right, and a driveway right before it.

It's an open range, like I said. The shooting benches are covered, and there's usually a fence set up around 30 yards, and a hill at 100+.

There is a nice range up to 100 yds. in Chester S.C but it might be a decent drive.

All the shooting we do down here in ILM is on private property, mostly in Southport. I have yet to find an outdoor range that didn't require you to bring an assload of money, kneepads, a willingness to suck off whoever you have to to get sponsored and a super-secret handshake to get into the club.
