I know this topic was briefly discussed earlier (maybe way earlier), but I wanted to bring it up again to get a more complete set of responses.

Has anyone added an aftermarket CD changer to the upgraded HK stereo? I heard that a generic unit from crutchfield will work with the factory system, and that an Alpine will also work.

If an Alpine would work, how about a CHA-S624? - I removed that from an old system a while ago.

AFAIK for any changer other than BMW you need an adapter. At that point it is a matter of what adapter makes what changer work.

The Blitzsafe adapter that is designed to interface XM radio only works with late model Alpine changers.
