View Full Version : BEWARE 50 everywhere
Bcspy 12-19-2006, 04:14 AM BMW members, Warning lots of PO out everywhere. If by St. Francis West Hospital, Ewa Beach. Reduce speed, Speed limit area is 35mph. Speed trap. Safe to be going about 40mph both direction. Don't worry what other people look and think. Also lots of ladar and stop sign enforcement on Federal property, Iroqouis Drive, Road, and West Loch Drive. Last Beware, lots of unauthorized racing going on at the old go cart track in Kalaeloa. Lots are being cited for trespassing and etc. Drive safe and Happy Holiday.:nono
dirsh 12-19-2006, 05:47 AM i've seen cops hiding on the on-ramp town bound right after the like like exit. They hide behind the wall and laser from behind. You would never see them until they're behind you pulling you over.
North bound right after the Mililani Town exit. I seen a cop with his car deep in the bushes. He had some kind of blanket or something covering the reflective police logo on the back.
Don't ever speed in any direction on or near red hill. Solo bikes are always hiding in the dark.
My HIDs light up patrol cars very well but the bikes are practically invisible
dirsh 12-19-2006, 05:48 AM oh btw i dont speed but i've always been paranoid of being pulled over for anything so i'm always on the lookout for the 5-0

another place i've seen the solobikes is on the grass by the tree, at the halawa heights west bound H1 onramp. just as you start to do that small radius sweeping right turn.
it was trippy one day when i saw them setting up for that. i was stuck in traffic coming down red hill west bound. they rode down red hill, then pulled off on the right shoulder and turned around and went offroading on the grassy knoll to the halawa onramp.
well i never speed so no worries. ;)
98M3_4 12-19-2006, 02:56 PM Yes, they're all over the place.
For the personal vehicles (non blue&white), it's even harder to tell now with the new, smaller style lights with the black casing.
PCP JR 12-19-2006, 03:10 PM H2 appears to have been a cash cow that they were milking well this past week or so.
Been noticing the fuzz rolling through neighborhoods more often too.

yeah i seen solo bikes at night on the side of the road from wahiawa to mililani
super hard to see until youre about 50 feet away, and they already had their lasers on you from like 100
PCP JR 12-19-2006, 06:28 PM I guess the solo bike guys on H2 wouldn't find it funny to be buzzed by 30+ BMWs doing exactly 64mph as we go by... not high enough to be "speeding" but high enough to get their attention.
They'd have the laser out but it would be like trying to shoot mosquitoes in a swamp.
"Well, your honor, I had to keep up with the vehicles around me, and they were all going 64mph..."
Safety in numbers...
dirsh 12-19-2006, 07:28 PM LOL
btw if you're going towards Mililani from Wahiawa beware of solo bikes on the onramp. They gun from real high on the ramp and most people won't see them up there, but i think they're up there so often that people know not to speed around there
wiggafly808 12-19-2006, 11:31 PM hey dirsh, did you get the car in mililani yet?
let me know if its still for sale..

I just wait til a lowered ricer pulls up next to me, then I downshift (the SMG does the throttle blipping thing) the ricer hears that and takes off...
I follow a good 150 yards behind (yeah, they "win") and use them as the laser bait.
Fight fire with losers. :)

This works for me also.
Maybe if more people got their speed "fix" at the track, they wouldn't need to speed on public streets. :)

Always drive the limit?? Hmmm...:bs
Were you the grandpa in the '88 Ford Tempo driving 24mph down 10th Ave this morning? I bet that was you! I was soooo tempted to pass you then drive 23mph all the way to Waialae. :stickoutt
Track or no track, people just drive "over" the limit. It is the ones that drive way over the limit (or reckless) that get the fuzz out en masse, and they'll drive like that whether there's a track or not. That's just the way they are...
I do make a huge effort to limit DSC-off oversteer episodes, as HPD really, really doesn't like those... :)

Bcspy 12-27-2006, 07:12 PM DUI Check point will be set up this Saturday, Pearl Harbor, West Loch. Time vary. Also HPD DUI check point on Fort Weaver and Kalaeloa. Last week, some tried to avoid HPD Laser going both direction and they took the backroad towards West Loch and got caught. Don't drink and drive, make sure everything is current and legal. Have a Happy New Year.

Around Waikiki, they'll probably set up the usual checks on Monserrat by the Waikiki Shell, and the one on Kapahulu near H1 (near Panda Travel or the old KC Drive In)

gmhl10 12-28-2006, 04:00 AM Haha... with all this extra traffic enforcement... I put my front license plate back on.
Bcspy 12-28-2006, 08:32 PM Front plate is a must or at least put it on the dash. For DUI, every vehicle will be stop. RDR-EURO, I'll be using laser and DUI on West Loch Drive on Saturday. Try you luck. I've learn that there are to many leeward traffic complaints, that's why you see lots of HPD task force out and about.

Just curious, how is the East side of the island doing?
I always see a lot of PO at the Blow Hole look out (3 sometimes 4) just parked there. Seems like my tax dollars would do better if there was only 1 there, 1 at Lanai Look out, 2 at Sandy Beach! I know there are 2 ATVs patroling Alan Davis area and along the shore, but maybe a higher number of patrols at Sandy's might help!
On another note: I once pulled into the Blow Hole area with my 318 after doing some repairs just to see how the car handled. I went there to turn around and head back home to Kalama Valley, and one of the Officers must have thought I was checking the place out, because he followed me out to Kalama valley and turned up on Hawaii Kai Drive! :D
Either I, or my car must look ghetto or something! :stickoutt

Yesterday going home around 5:30ish, there were two radar blue and whites about 300 yards before the Mariner's Cove Rec Ctr. very near to that recently renovated Genshiro Kawamoto house. Seems they were tagging people going towards town.
On another note: In denial?.....maybe it was like this...The car looked pristine, but the driver looked ghetto?

However, you may have a point there!
I think there were radars there because of the smashed parked SUV there! Looks like some idiot crashed into the parked SUV heading towards town.
rennwerkes 12-29-2006, 12:51 AM I'm just trying to understand how tagging guys going a few miles over the speedlimit is going to help things?:mad Accidents are most often caused by EXCESSIVE speeding/reckless driving OR ALCOHOL abuse.
It just pisses me off that when you've got racing going on in the early morning hours you hardly see any cops out.
Sorry, had to vent!

3. I can't work those hours!
I totally agree with you!
I see more Officers during the day just hanging out, and then when all the action starts at 11:00 PM and starts to tapper off at 4:30 AM the Officers are no where to be found!
The type of service they give to protect the innocent drivers is rather lacking during these hours. Granted there are other issues and emergencies that Police Officers need to attend to, but where is the proper management of time for these Officers?
As with any other type of Service, it's not the Officers that are out there trying to do what they should...well most of them anyway, but it seems to be the upper management that is not looking at the big picture here.
Very simple...when do all the racers, drug addicts, thieves, & crack heads come out? You won't find most of them during the day that's for sure...but than again most bakeries are open during the day too!
Darn Renn...you just had to get me started didn't you!!

Bcspy 12-29-2006, 03:00 AM One HPD officer told me, Hawaii Kai is a retirement home. Pull people for anything, is like taking a candy from a baby. Extra court time and special duty in the morning. This might be the wrong thing to hear, but some officers work ethics sucks.

Thrlls, you're absolutely right.
What about the big crackdown on weed??? That has got to be the most stupid thing anyone has ever done!:mad
Yup, go spend all the money to eradicate pot, increase prices, so kids start to go looking for cheaper stuff, coke and meth. What a wonderful idea! So you've got folks that are killing and stealing to feed their addiction.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I never met anyone that was stoned and ready to kill anyone, okay, maybe over a burger!:lol

Actually I would say the Police Officer is correct in saying that.
Astroboy 12-30-2006, 04:41 PM On a slightly related note, from a parent's standpoint, it is recommended that those pull-down suction-cup shades that stick on to the side windows and rear windows to provide shades for infants can supposedly become projectile objects in the event of an accident. Thus the newer style of stick-on self-adhesive sheets have become popular :dunno.

My point exactly, loose objects are even more likely to become a projectile.
If you think of it that's the reason why we have seatbelts and airbags today. The DOT discovered in the mid '60s that homosapiens become projectiles when an automobile accident occurs. The windshield replacements demands were getting too high! However, it was a gradual thing as all cars back then also had metal dash boards...no dash cover needed with those, and you could cook a burger on them! :D
Limo Tint may help!

I just moved from Seattle and got the same BS from the cops regarding my Euro front plate. I had the actual Maryland tag on the dash and they said if I got in an accident it could come flying at me and cut my face. Unless I get rear ended by someone doing 100, seems highly unlikely. Oh well.
