View Full Version : 328is racing all night
Antidentite 12-16-2006, 11:24 PM Stock 1996 328is 149k miles...beat
civic hatch (turbo charged)
3 eclipse
1 GSX eclipse
1 turbo Talon
It was a great night, raced about 10 cars, and one truck (nissan titan haha).
The eclipse's and the talon were all in some ricer ass little club or something, all had picnic table spoilers, neon, body kits, and bondo...I loved the feeling of whopping their bean can asses. The guy in the GSX tried to act all hard core, we launched at 40mph, time stood still and i was gone.
I also raced just for the hell of it and evo8 with heavy mods (i really just wanted to see how bad he would beat me and it wasn't pretty).
Raced a 2001 328 also, the funny thing was he didn't pull me as quick as i figured he would.
The turbo civic was the best race all night. His car was putting out some power but he didn't hook up well. I won 2 races from a dig, and one from 40mph. I beat him by about 6 car lenghts until we got to about 100mph then he started to slowly creep forward.
TonysBimmer 12-16-2006, 11:44 PM I'm sorry, did you say something?? I was busy staring at yur sig :D
m3outtanowhere 12-17-2006, 12:20 AM My closet is pretty messy; and yes, I have not seen the bottom in a while...But I know for DAMN sure that you aint in there.
savage217 12-17-2006, 12:31 AM Do you have a 325i or 328i? It says 328i in the post but under cars says 325i:dunno
activfoxy 12-17-2006, 12:39 AM Raced a 2001 328 also
there were zero 328s in 2001 as far as I know....

Thats what I'm beginning to wonder.....since I have issues with the stock 2gdsm's(its a driver's race stock vs stock) and I pulled my old roomie's 99 328is by 2.5lengths to 110......In my sable :redspot
Andrew
stang65 12-17-2006, 10:01 AM Must have been fun.
I thought that a gsx was a turbo charged awd monster.
would love to see a sable pulling on a bmw that would be funny.
The-Great-328ic 12-17-2006, 11:14 AM titan > you
jiggynites 12-17-2006, 11:32 AM wow a titan would destroy a 328 not even close but he manage to beat it.
how in the world a stock 328i beat a GSX and TSI which were most likely not stock is amazing  and how he beat a 2,100lbs turbo civic is even more amazing
good kills man:buttrock
I was at the races the other day with my almost stock 328ci
and beat a
c6 vett
996tt
viper srt10
:D
GuitarKid93 12-17-2006, 12:05 PM last night i raced a procharged z06 and pulled about 4 cars, good race thou
ModenaM3 12-17-2006, 01:04 PM Well, as for the DSM cars they probably were not turbo. With all of the "money" going into "cosmetic upgrades", they probably had to buy a non turbo car and just swap a badge.
Turbo DSM cars can spank me all day long =(
Lee101315 12-18-2006, 12:27 PM Nice kills, anything is possible on the street. You beat the drivers, not the cars.
If I posted the kills I used to make in my old e30 at the local spot, I would have about 10 pages of BS comments and flaming.:rolleyes
Something to learn about civics at the local spots. Some of them are cheap ebay kits with a t-25 turbo. Add in zero tuning to that equation, and you still have a slow car barely faster than stock. Ive even seen those guys lose to better tuned NA hondas/acuras. On the other hand, I saw a 92 civic hatch with a turboed H22 smoke a C5 Z06 from a roll...
Do not sleep on hondas though. They are very light, and someone who really takes the time and money to do a good job on the car run a 12sec 1/4 mile...doesnt have to be turbo either.
The DSMs clearly did not launch properly. A stock GSX from a roll is nothing special... but from a dig you do not have a chance. I own a gsx and a heavily modded 328, so I know.
AmtrackMarine 12-18-2006, 03:14 PM Last nite, I was driving on base in my old 328, and saw a Cobra Attack helicopter..beeped three times...let me tell you what, time stood still and I was gone, I thought for a second I almost traveled through time...should have seen the pilot in the Cobra
But yeah...I'm kinda sketchy on all of these races

Never underestimate a taurus with a 24vdohc badge.....or the occasional sable(mines the fastest stock one we know of) but in 96-04, the 24v badges mean 200hp, so its definatey not a car to be taken for granted....although the 98-99's with the 3.98 gearing are the most dangerous non sho's( mine has 3.98's....lol) My roomie was pissed at that one, but hey, his was an at too....
Oh, and I have traction issues at the strip and am running plus sized tires to get 15.8's:redspot :evil2

dont get me wrong I didnt me to say that they were slow I just thought that it would be funny. Just something you dont see every day.
the traction issues might be able to be fixed with suspension tunning.

IDK, maybe.....only thing I could think of is to stiffen the back up a bit. And I got some new tires, so i hope to get mid 15's this season....lol

josephlibby4000 12-20-2006, 03:46 PM OMG please dont do this. 328is owners always get flamed should have made up a better story lol
themadhatter 12-20-2006, 04:11 PM Do you have a 325i or 328i? It says 328i in the post but under cars says 325i:dunno
he has the super elusive '96 325i. :rofl
this guy is full of crap - this thread is bs.

kingamr 12-22-2006, 03:50 PM :flaming
justaddwada 12-22-2006, 04:13 PM i believe it. because turbo civics are still the slowest car on the road, and even if a titan has a lot of power, its not geared to beat an mdub
Antidentite 12-22-2006, 05:50 PM I'm just a new driver people, getting into the car world. Up until now it has just been dirt bikes for me.
The titan was on the highway...you really think a big ass lifted titan with will pull a 328is at highway speeds?
The Talon and the supposed GSX were F/I. That or they just happend to make the Blow off sound for the hell of it. I beat both of them and I'm not sure what we started from. Not from a dig, I think we were around 45mph.
The BMW I raced was a 328, It was newer, don't ask what year i figured since it was not the e36 body it might have been an 01 or 03 something around there. He was in his early 20's, didn't look like he could afford something brand new. I don't know my E46 cars for shit as for years so don't flame me. His car was auto by the way not sure if that makes a difference.
The civic hatch was a clean car with no signs of ricer crap all over it. I figured it was a nice car as far as his setup (maybe low budget but done well?) I was thinking maybe a little T28 or something. A friend of mine has a S14 with an SR20det, I assumed it was something around the same size turbo.
I beat him from a dig twice in two short runs. Then we went from 40MPH at his request, I was in 2nd. Took that up to around 100. He started to creep up on me a little around 85-90ish but i think it was because I shifted that time early.
When I typed that I wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying, I wasn't lieing just sharing some little races I had that night.
Sorry if the thread looked bogus. It wasn't, but maybe the way I said it seemed this way.
BavariaMotorist 12-22-2006, 08:49 PM Ok whoa, if it wasn't the e36 then it was either OLDER or not a 328.
Unless it was an 07, in which case I'd have to question why you would say it's an 01 since they don't even resemble one another.
EDIT: Explain why your sig says 325is and your topic says 328:\ Don't know what car you drive?
whitebimmer87 12-22-2006, 10:01 PM My stock 328is got raped by one not to long ago. SRT-4's haul the mail for sure stock.
There still a dumb looking car though and the bimmer still pull more chicks. Anything is quick if it's turbo stock...
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7561534&postcount=11
he is referring to an SRT-4, but yet he beat all those other cars?
MrKevko330i 12-23-2006, 02:20 AM Stock 1996 328is 149k miles...beat

Hmm.. bone stock 193bhp @ 208lbs of torque 328i keeping up with EVO, beating TSi's, beating turbo hatches.. Sorry think again before you post a thread like this.. no more comment, just grab me a bag of popcorn.
AbsolutE36 12-23-2006, 04:17 AM :grenade
speechless,OP I can't even believe you drive if you actually belieeve the BS that just came out of your mouth .
328iJunkie 12-23-2006, 04:51 AM in 99-00 there were E46 328s.... and the E36 328 only has 190hp and less than 208 tq... those #s are from an E46... And btw ive run with a mildly boosted civic hatch that was running 220 at the wheels and lost, barley, but lost... (ive got a modded S52 swapped 328)... So yeah... BS!
Antidentite 12-24-2006, 03:34 PM Hmm.. bone stock 193bhp @ 208lbs of torque 328i keeping up with EVO, beating TSi's, beating turbo hatches.. Sorry think again before you post a thread like this.. no more comment, just grab me a bag of popcorn.I did not say I kept up with the evo at all...
And It's a 328is, I'm not sure why it says 325 up top?
Antidentite 12-24-2006, 03:38 PM in 99-00 there were E46 328s.... and the E36 328 only has 190hp and less than 208 tq... those #s are from an E46... His car wasn't running 220 but it seemed quick, I was in 3rd and getting up to about 85-90mph and he started to gain rather quick. The civic seemed like a decent match for my car, if he would have hooked up at all he prob could have kept with me or beat me. He spun forever from a did, from 40mph I pulled him pretty quick then it just stayed even for a bit and he started to gain.
Antidentite 12-24-2006, 03:42 PM Hmm.. bone stock 193bhp @ 208lbs of torque 328i keeping up with EVO, beating TSi's, beating turbo hatches.. Sorry think again before you post a thread like this.. no more comment, just grab me a bag of popcorn.Did I say I beat a TSI? No. I said there was a GSX (or so the badge said). Both were not very quick. Both WERE turbo'd though.
Who knows, they were covered in bondo and chicken wire/fiberglass body kits. They could have been just badged. But both were turbo. The other ones with them were just GS eclipse.
Antidentite 12-24-2006, 03:45 PM http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7561534&postcount=11

The only cars I beat were ricers and a civic hatch...
I did not say I beat the BMW, did not say i beat the EVO....

dude, there was a 328i in 99 and 2000 both E46, then it was replaced by the 330 in 01.
:lol
-10 for new driver being a tool
RRdawho? 12-24-2006, 05:19 PM Last nite, I was driving on base in my old 328, and saw a Cobra Attack helicopter..beeped three times...let me tell you what, time stood still and I was gone, I thought for a second I almost traveled through time...should have seen the pilot in the Cobra

Going past 85mph eh? Yeah, the would make you travel through time alright.

I can believe a very close match between your 328 and a 2g dsm(stock, no mods)....but if you pulled from them, they were badged with prolly some ebay turbo whistlers in thier exhausts.....As i said, I can beat the stock ones, but have issues with slightly modded ones....oh, and if they were 1g's, uhh....they are faster :rolleyes Oh, and GS and esi people seem to gather in packs around riced out dsm's as they think they are god because the stock dsm is much faster than thier stock 19 second eclipse...:redspot
