Last Friday after making my way through a few industrial park roads I come to a stop, second in line at the intersection to the main road I take home (Miramar for those San Diego peeps out there)

Light turns green and I follow an FX35 left. There is plenty of time for me to choose a lane that he didn't and then get in front of him before the next light and be first in line.

Did I romp on the gas a tad? yes. Is my exhaust loud? hell yes. Did I attract attention from a shortpants studlet? apparently so....

I take off from the light as I usually do, which might seem a bit quick for some, and accelerate up through the gears enjoying the 1 mile or so stretch of open road before traffic comes to a dead stop where people are trying to get onto the freeway.

As I am doing this I catch a glimpse of a car behind me getting flogged into trying to get up to and then pass me...ok... As I settle in to cruise speed shortpants flies by in a brand spankin' new Accord. He looks over at me as I look over at him and in the brief moment our eyes met I could see a small bit of satisfaction on his face.

So yeah I got pwned by a new Accord being driven by someone who might or might not be old enough to have a Driver's License. :D

Unfortunately for him he has a bit to work on in the smoothness department. The poor Accord had some trouble with the minor curves of the roadway so he applied brakes liberally as he drifted out and then back into his lane ahead of me.

As he came up to the inevitable traffic jam he again had to slam on his brakes and again unfortunately for him he was not particularly smooth. By choosing the middle lane he doomed himself to suffering a smile and friendly wave from me as I drove by in the always faster-moving right hand lane.

The kid is pretty lucky he didn't own himself (or hit someone else) trying to outpace someone who wasn't 'racing'.

*sigh

Yeah, I had a guy like that "own" me too. I took off from a light fairly normally, he heard my exhaust growling that V8 tune and he stomped on it. He had a v6 Buick Century with exhaust. He threw me a wave goodbye out the sunroof. Unfortunately he immediately took the next turn and so had no chance to be... he he... Educated.

giggle .

maybe it was enough of a confidence boost to him that he will take it to the strip and try to own some people who ARE racing :D

and that road is full of stop lights too! wtf....

im just in encinitas(for all you san diego people:buttrock )
if he wanted to race, you should have been like, wanna do rancho? or ho about elfin forest? ohh wait, you(the other guy) cant corner! hehe

he is a looser. ive had that happen to me in my e46 m3...ppl think im racing...and well, the e46m3 isnt exactly stealthy...

if you ever see a black m3 sometime...give a considerable rev(announcement) im up for some fun, although any supercharged e36/roadie walks away form me...
