snk328is 01-13-2003, 12:17 AM LOL RoadRat, are you gonna pay my bills for me? ;)
The job market is nowhere near good enough for me to quit my current job. The sad truth is that employers have the upper hand these days... :(
RoadRat 01-13-2003, 01:02 AM Yeah, I know it, but if you can make it, it'll be great! BTW, got more pics of your car?
QuestMCoupe 01-13-2003, 10:40 AM I'm still planning on going, hopefully somebody else from the DFW area is going too so I wont be the only one.
RoadRat 01-13-2003, 11:39 AM There are a bunch of guys from Dallas going. I am trying to get the Dallas caravan details and will post them soon!
///M3 2 NV 01-13-2003, 12:38 PM Sorry, but I won't be in town this weekend.
I will be at another TWS DE! Just got some Hoosiers I need to test out! :alright
Some of you folks should plan on joining me there sometime! :D
snk328is 01-13-2003, 10:20 PM Hey guys, just so you know, I'm trying REALLY hard to go. I want to bring my digi cam and take lots of pics so that maybe I can gather some material for the BF.C calendar.
At my job there is a monthly outage at our hosting facility and it usually happens every third Sunday of every month. I fortunately got out of traveling to the hosting facility (in NJ), but I will probably still be required to be on the phone around midnight Saturday night. So if I go, I'll be getting up at the ass crack of dawn on Saturday morning, enjoy the day, then probably stay up all night Saturday night to be on a conference call with the guys at the hosting facility.
Sorry for the long explanation but I wanted to let you guys know where my hesitation comes from. I'm sure a lot of you with jobs like mine (network engineer) understand. :)
Anyway, RoadRat, I do have some pics. Check it out. :D

Brian

Heres my contact info:
email: bboytactics@hotmail.com
mobile number 214.562.8978
I'm going to check out that Whataburger location in Lancaster tomorrow if its under heavy construction I'm going to pick a different meetup place for Saturday morning.
The plan is to leave Dallas from the meetup place by 8 AM if not earlier Saturday morning.
Brian
RoadRat 01-16-2003, 05:37 PM Cool Brian!! THanks for assisting in the set up! Couldn't do it without you guys!
QuestMCoupe 01-17-2003, 03:15 AM Alright I'm in for sure guys...see you Dallas guys at the meeting spot and everyone else in Austin.
rflores2323 01-17-2003, 10:32 AM so are we meeting at the whataburger?????
RoadRat 01-17-2003, 10:34 AM dallasbboy (bboytactics@hotmail.com) is checking the place out. So yes, unless otherwise posted. Sorry for the delay in finalizing this.
RoadRat 01-17-2003, 06:10 PM Final (?)....meet at the Whataburger as planned! See ya'll in Austin!! Weather looks great. Probably 30+ cars coming!!!
rflores2323 01-17-2003, 06:40 PM Im bringing the vid camera!!
RoadRat 01-17-2003, 06:49 PM Excellent! We had some great vids last time, but one of the guys who took vid is not coming this time as far as i know! See ya tomorrow
SDbboy 01-17-2003, 07:46 PM OK I checked out the Whataburger in Lancaster. Its kinda hard to find because of all the contruction, the exit number 414 is not actually labeled but its the exit named "Beltline" right after you enter the DeSoto area. Once you exit turn left and the Whataburger is right there on the corner. Theres a Walmart right next to it.
I'll be there before 8 AM in a Topaz blue M3.
Hope to see everyone there, invite your friends this is a lot of fun :).
Brian
RoadRat 01-17-2003, 07:49 PM thanks for checking it out Brian. glad it will work out.
see ya tomorrow!
Is ChunkyD coming? Ask him to burn the vids from last time on cd for me if he has time.
snk328is 01-17-2003, 09:12 PM Well, I won't be making it again... Today on my way back to work from lunch I mis-shifted. Cylinder #5 is dead. Compression is acceptable (150) but it's not firing.
Sorry guys! I feel so stupid... And I was all psyched ready to go too! :(
HalcYoN 01-17-2003, 09:15 PM snk328is,
No fuggin way!!! I am so sorry to here of your loss, please accept my condolences.
RoadRat 01-17-2003, 11:53 PM Well sh*t, thats some really bad news! Sorry to hear! Hope you're still in the game after repairs!
AaronM3 01-17-2003, 11:57 PM oh man snk...... i am really sorry to hear that!!!!!!!!
time to drop in 3.2L M power :D
snk328is 01-18-2003, 01:52 PM Thanks for your kind words...
Well it turns out Cylinder 6 is still firing, but it is suspect that I have a bent valve or two in Cylinder 5. The shop is going to take a look at it on Monday and if he's going to have to take the heads out, I'm probably going to have all the heads re-machined.
ARGH!
:(
AaronM3 01-18-2003, 05:38 PM look at the price for that... and if its greater than 3k send your head to pete mchenry or buy the bekkers head. Dont let them screw you out of a lot of money!!!!!
-Aaron
snk328is 01-18-2003, 06:44 PM It probably won't be greater than 3K even after labor. The guy thought remachining the heads will be around $5-600.
AaronM3 01-18-2003, 07:47 PM even with replacing your bent valves? and taking off the head alone i figure would be 600 bucks by itself. Casue you also need a head gasket to seal the head
SG_M3 01-18-2003, 09:17 PM I would figure on 3k or slightly under. Just watch out if its too cheap.
snk328is 01-19-2003, 12:14 AM I'll find out more on Monday when they take a closer look to figure out what's gone wrong...
SDbboy 01-19-2003, 05:40 AM The pictures are slowing showing up on Roadrat's webpage. Ya'll missed the best drive I've ever been on. 3 cars from Dallas showed up (me, Z3, M Coupe) and about 30 total from all over Texas.
Richard and his wife caravaned to Austin with me and my girlfriend in just over 2 hours :evil2 we had a blast the whole day. Especially lime creek (if only Dallas had roads this fine). :)
Beautiful day and gorgeous roads. Can it get better?
http://members.roadfly.com/roadrat/austin.html
I'll post my pictures sometime tomorrow.
Brian
HalcYoN 01-19-2003, 12:41 PM Here are some more pics from yesterday...

Good times.
QuestMCoupe 01-19-2003, 12:58 PM I wish I could have made...some stuff came up at the last minute. Looks like everyone had fun.
snk, sorry about your car, hope you get it fixed soon.
AaronM3 01-19-2003, 02:18 PM nice pics guys..... glad yall had fun, it was a beautiful day for a winter drive.
chunkyd 01-19-2003, 02:43 PM I really wish i could have gone!!! Looks like you guys had alot of fun. Next time my car will be ready.. Then no matter what i'm going.
Austin 01-20-2003, 07:16 AM Always such a weak turn out from Dallas. People here ar'nt into activities I suppose.
QuestMCoupe 01-20-2003, 10:13 AM There arent many Dallas people online and if they are, not everyone can make events such as this. For example, I've seen a few nice BMWs at work but they work C shift which means every Saturday so people like them cant ever make a meet.
RoadRat 01-20-2003, 02:29 PM Are you kidding? Most of the people during the last drive were from Dallas. There were more people from Dallas than from Austin. This time, there were 4 from Dallas
SDbboy 01-20-2003, 05:30 PM http://www.dallas.net/~bboy/m3/Austin_TX_drive_1_18_2003/page_1.html
I don't think theres been more M Coupes in one place than saturday afternoon in Austin Texas.
Brian
