if i were to SC my 318is with a DASC would it be A LOT faster? like as fast as an m3?

what gear are you in 60 mph? is it still 3rd? like do you max at 53 mph in 2nd gear?

anyone have hp figures (at the crack) or 0-60 times? 1/4 times on the track? anything? cuz i'm thinking of selling my car for a faster one, but i could just buy the SC...how does it compare to the 323 or 328?

in my car i have intake and exhaust and 0-60 is around 8.5-9.0 seconds...is that right? i have a manny

A DASC will NOT change your gearing, so whatever gear you're in at 60mph now will be the same. Advertised HP is 210hp and 200ft/lbs. My wife's DASCed '97 318ti ran a 15.22@89mph this fall. Your 318 is not going to be as fast as an M3, but it should be faster than a 323 and nearly as fast as a 328.

With everything listed in my sig I managed 170rwhp on my automatic Z3.

With a manual, you should see a few more ponies.

I read in car and driver that the 323 is only .1 second slower than the 328 in 0-60 (and 1/4 time i think, but not sure)...after driving a 323 i fully believe that is it almost as fast as a 328, those cars are so quick. I would be happy being faster than any non m car stock...but if i'm still gonna be slower than a 328 i dunno...won't the shorter gearing help me?

anyone raced anther car or compared it to an m3 that they have driven? i know your wife has a Ti which is about 200 lbs less than mine

thanks for the info

Well I've compared my wife's SCed 318ti to my M3, it's not as quick ;) The ti is as quick as my friend's '95 Taurus SHO though which suprized the hell out of him since I didn't tell him that I installed the DASC before we raced :D If you want an E36 that's as fast as a M3, get an M3 or a FI 32X or an engine swap or etc. The DASC will make a big difference in performance, but it's not going to turn your 318 in to a 12sec monster.... that's what '03 Cobras are for :)

They may have been comparing a 323 5-speed to a 328 auto or convert. That would explain the .1sec diff in times between the two.

Was that at a track or was that a G-Tech number?

Best I managed at the track was a 15.71 on street tires (without CAI). Very disappointing, but then again, I have a slushbox...
