can anyone recommend somewhere to get a semi automatic soft-top replacement in the London, UK area? Think mine could do with replacing come the summer and don't fancy the £1500 BMW price tag, plus £100 an hour labor.
Or, how much work to go from a semi auto to full auto?

£100 an hour labor! Yikes! I thought labour at the dealers in Canada was expensive at about $100 Cdn which works out to £45/hr. Now I don't feel so bad. You might want to look for a convertible top specialist rather than a BMW specific garage.

yeah, just found a few in the area ill give a call. But hoping to get some recommendations.
Just purchased my BMW so took it to my local dealership to have some work done. They charged me £59 to add a little solder inside of a key fob!
Ended up spending £600 and the only "major" piece of work was fitting a new locking system to the hard top. Lesson learnt, stay clear of the dealerships. Joke is, they charged me parts and labor to replace it, and then a further £50 to remove and reinstall the hard top. Its like a 2 minute job!!!

that's why they call it the "stealer". £50 to remove and reinstall the hard top is criminal. Let's say it takes 4 minutes (being generous here)...that works out to £750/hr. Probably more than the most qualified neurosurgeon would charge.
