The first time I drove the 6 series I was incredibly underwhelmed, however, I drove it right after an M roadster, which makes the 6 series drive like a souless boat in comparison. Once you separate this car from a sports car, and see it for what it is: a touring car, it is quite nice.
The interior is really top notch. The wood is beautiful, and contrary to popular belief the I drive isn't that hard to work. The steering wheel is very nice the seats are very sporty, but at the same time comfortable. And the sound quaility of the stereo is great.
The car drives very nicely. Effortlessly is the best word for it. You can hardly feel how fast it is, but you can tell it is fast. Dispite being a big boat touring car, it still gives you feed back, and with the anti-roll stabilization, the car handles very nicely. It doesn't feel nearly as big as it is when you are driving it. It is no sports car for sure, but still very nice to drive.
After driving that car all yesterday, I almost missed many of the luxury perks in that one, such as the active cruise control. The cruise control slows down when there is a car in front of you. Annoying at first, but it must be great for long trips. The headlights are also active, turning with you, which is nice. Heating steering wheel must be ftw, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
All and all it is a very nice car. It is a much nicer drive than the 911, with much nicer interior materials, much better visibility, and a lot smoother and easier on you. However, it is not as fun. But for long trips, the 6 series is definitely the choice, with a 911 being the better car for weekends. Storage and back seat space are also far better than the 911.
