I'm in the middle of removing the a/c compressor right now, I've removed 2 bolts from the front of the bracket near the waterpump, and 2 bolts on the side of the bracket roughly under the exhaust manifold.

I spotted one more bolt behind the tensioner pulley so I removed that as far as I could but the bolt head hit the bracket, I removed the idler pulley as I spotted a hole possibly to put a socket on that bolt head through, but the bolt is off center in that hole.

the bracket is still firmly on, using a pry-bar on the compressor I can move the entire engine rather than just that bracket.

what am I missing?

I already have the condensor/radiator/lines all out.

From memory there was three bolts for the compressor. It slid out sideways, then frontways....took a bit of persuasion to come out, but nothing too bad.

There are 2 types of compressor. Bosch and York. I had the bosch type, so don't know if that makes any difference.

take the compressor off first, then take the bracket off. You'll have to buy a shorter bolt for the timing cover where the bracket mounts.

are there any exploded engine diagrams for the 320 available?

I looked at removing the compressor from the bracket but the 2 bolts I saw are on the engine block side so I didn't bother trying them.
