I had a 1996 328 convertible and installed the Dinan stage 1 suspension. It rode firm, but not stiff. Also their adjustable Koni shocks are custom tuned for their springs. I liked it. Go to dinancars.com for more info.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I now have a 1999 M3 convertible and it drives very different than the 328 because it has different geometry and track. If you can find a used suspension from an M3 convertible, install that. Rear control arms, front struts, springs, shocks and sway bars. The M3 has different front swaybar mounts than non M's. Convertibles also have different spring rates because the convertible is 300 pounds or so heavier that the coupes.

Good luck

If you do not want to lower it, and I personally do not recommend lowering unless you are taking it to the track. 3-Series are already low enough and personally, if you are going to ride in the street, I would not mess with the ground clearance. Trust me, I ripped out the tranny once because my car did not have enough clearance.

I had experienced OE sets from Bilstein/H&R, it was PERFECT for the car. Springs are very important in that it will control the body lean. Shocks/Structs allow to you "stick" to the road. In my opinion, Bilsteins/H&R are perfect for German cars.
