View Full Version : Goody, just won the rest of my tools for my toolkit...
Uriah 12-07-2006, 12:35 PM I just didn't feel complete without them, now I just need another first aid kit and triangle...
Oh, and I even got the little oil bags you can put a quart of oil in. Joy.
The cool though though, is the spare tire well (like my Mercedes has) that BMW SHOULD HAVE HAD FACTORY! Every car should. Nice for putting odds and ends you don't want banging around in your truck (as long as they're shorter then like 15 inches).
TC535i 12-07-2006, 12:56 PM I love that cubby to the right hand side of the trunk. Very convenient for a quart of oil, maybe a bottle of water, whatever else you may wanna throw in there!
I also need one of those elastic trunk nets, but they're like $40 just for the net at the dealership. :(

I got one of those trunk nets for like 15 bucks shipped a couple months ago. They work better in theory. The little 'cubby' is where your first aid kit is susposed to go.
The spare tire well (Ebay # 200049012245) is pretty handy. Mercedes has a couple things I've always liked, the first aid kit built into the rear package tray, and the tire well with it's own cover and hatch. You can lift the big piece up (complete with a little strap that hooks on your trunk) or just lift the carpet and open the small door to get into your tire well.
As soon as I can find the right Mercedes, I'll be adding that little feature into my 540. BMW has a way better tool kit then Mercedes though, I love the built in holder in the trunk lid, even if the tools are kinda (OK, really) cheap.

First aid kit? I've seen the euro option bolted to the passenger side seat bottom...

Yeah, that's apparently where the first aid kit goes in the US cars.
BTW, the M5s had another little storage place on the drivers side of the truck that apparently no other E34s had. Not sure what could be crammed in there with the amp in the way. Any E34 M5 guys care to chime in?
I've only seen one, not sure if it's factory or not, but it looked like it was. Maybe the 540 Sport had it as well?

...and VERY expensive if you buy that thing off of eBay...$13.99 + $10.99 shipping charges!
I have the BMW accessory catalog in front of me and it has the same item (and same part number listed in the eBay ad) and it is listed for $14. I know some states have a pretty high state income tax...but I don't think any of them would charge state tax that would amount to $10.99!
Sometimes its good to check your local BMW dealerships parts dept. I know some are reticent about using them...but sometimes you may be better off purchasing locally...especially in this case. ;)
BTW, the BMW accessory catalog is FREE...so just stop in and pic one up for good measure...and same pic in the ebay add is the same one in the BMW Accessory Catalog:

Triangle actually isn't that big a deal. They come standard in Europe and Ebay is full of them. I've got one in the compartment for it, but it's not the correct BMW one, works for now until I find the right one, lol.
I don't have the new accessory catalog yet, need to get one.
