So, Sparco makes a couple very affordable seats ( sub $300) - one FIA and one non FIA rated. They work great for smaller drivers. The problem is that they do not offer an anti-sub belt hole for 5 or 6 point harnesses. This eliminates their safe use for track events in my opinion.
However, for an autocross-only application, these seats combined with a 4pt harness (like the Schroth Quick Connect 2" setup) would work great.
I am considering offering a package including these economy seats, mounts, and removable harnesses. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ken

I am interested in the schrothe harnesses, but @ 6'2" I need a seat that reclines to even fit into most 3's.

See, there are advantages to being short!
:D
Too bad I'm carrying 50 lbs of 'ballast'.

That might not be true since most non stock setups can go lower. I'm also 6 2, and struggled with the OEM seat in my E46, but the right setup of aftermarket seats, sliders and mounts could work.

I think thats a good idea. You mean the sparco sprints? they are tube frame which make them super comfy yet a little dangerous (some would say) if you get into an accident.
I believe you can just cut a slit in the seat cushion seam to run the 5pt sub strap through. I think Kevin (Draven) did that.

My concern for simply cutting a slit is that - depending on where the strap is secured with relation to the hole - the strap may just pull across the loose fabric as the hole isn't reinforced.
The Sparco Sprint and Speed are similar, the Speed is a non-FIA "tuning" seat.
