I have noticed that most of the sport package Ti's dont have the little M/// logo on the steering wheel. I have seen them on 99's. Is this the only year that has it? The 99 wheel seems to be different too(three spoke).

What you mean is the leather sports wheel, that has nothing to do with certain years, it is part of a interieur package. I'm gonna change the 4-spoke steeing wheel to the 3-spoke sports steering wheel. Looks much better! :)

Yes I think in the US only the 99's had the 3 spoke wheel. Mine's a 96 sport and has the plain 4 spoke wheel.

Hmmm, here in Germany the 3-spoke wheel came in 95.
My girlfriend got it in her compact open air... look my
homepage under "Mitglieder" » "Daniela".

I have a '99 ti and it has a three spoke wheel with a roundel in the middle. The only M insignia on the car is on the moulding on the doors.

The M insignia on the steering wheel is just on the M3 tech 1 or tech 2 wheel. It is one of the exclusive parts and was just build in the 323ti as far as I know.

Are you guys talking about this wheel:

By far the best e36 wheel. Always found it look crap in pics, but still wanted it for the ///m logo and tri-color stitching (I have seen them with black stitching though!).
When I got it, installed it...LOVED IT. Look so much better in real life. Feels great. Nice thickness, but not too thick. Only 10mm smaller than the non-M 3 spoke sport airbag wheel I had, but feels much smaller and made the old wheel look like a buswheel.

My old wheel:
