EXPRESS EXTREME CAUTION when considering giving him your VIN# AlaskaBimmer 12-04-2006, 04:37 AM the 14 digit vins were in 80 or 81 (the car fax site tells what year they started) my 79 is only 7 digits but does have a 14 digit vin stamped on it as well but won't work in car fax... my 323i won't work because carfax doesn't know the vin since it's not an American market vin.
