I have a little problem here. My amp turns on in protect mode and after 3 seconds switches to normal operation. When it shuts off, it would momenerally blink with protect light again. Any explonations to this? Grounds and power delivery are perfect, no voltage jumps upon turning on or off. I have also tried unplugging speaker/RCAs one by one, but that didn't do anything.

Thanks in advance!

Has it always done this, or is this a new issue?

new issue I beleive. Same thing happened to my first amp (6ch Aura).

Interesting. Leads me to believe you have some type of problem linked to both amps, be it too low of an impedance load, something to do with the signal going into your amp, etc. Can you post details about your system?

Yeah, sure.

HU Alpine 7894, 3 sets of RCAs coming out going to PPI DCX 730 processor. 3 sets coming out and going to the amp. Current amp (Memphis Belle, Fultron one)
is pushing 4 ohm mids bandpassed at 60 and 2600 18db slope and 4ohms tweeters high passed at 3200 18db slope. The sub is low passed at 80, but Memphis is like 2 separate amps under one cover, so the sub is running from single channel of the "second" amp (wired in for 2ohms).

RTOs: one running from HU to PPI in and than comes out with a delay as the manual claims. It than goes into a relay and 2 RTOs come out for two halves of the amp.

Thanks!

Have you tried by-passing the external crossover and running your RCA's directly into your amp? Unlikely, but there is a slight possibility that maybe your PPI processor is sending either too high of a voltage, or at least something that the amp might not be liking. I would try it at low volume to see if the amp continues to go into protect in the way that you say. It would at the very least eliminate the processor from being a problem.

Thanks Ken. I will double check Tuesday and get back on this issue. Too tired right now.

Thanks again!

I actually do remember that eliminating PPI out of the game did not help. So I guess it's my amp than?

It could be, but it seems odd that your previous amp did the exact same thing. It leads me to think that something is amiss with your install.

Umm, like what? I mean I really have no clue what could be wrong? Do you think they might've not liked the fact that I sent them un-attenuated signal a few times? Because I tried hooking up Aura in my brother's car and it kept doing the same thing.

Are you 100% sure it hasn't always done this?

Not 100%, but most likely. 90/10.
