go to realoem.com and check. im wanting to say no on that one.
you need an e36 4 door hood to line up right. the coupe is too big. if you're using the factory grills and insert then yeah your year model 4 door hood will work. 96's are different than 97's too. the grill insert slants down and wont line up right but yeah typical you can use any of the 4 door e36 hoods. fitment will be an issue

I am one of the former M3 owners that didn't pay much attention to the Ti. I just picked one up for the wife today. What a cool car. The car is a 98 with the sports package. A few of my M3 friends rolled their eye when I told them what I just bought. I think they will change their minds a bit one they take it for a spin. I know I did.

dude... it drifts amazingly. its like a fucking go-cart. its half e36 4 door and half e30.

Really, I had one on my E30M3 that fit perfectly with no imprefections. It used factory mounts etc. I really liked it. What kind of problems did you have?

the cf hood should weigh in the neighborhood of 15lbs im guessing so it will save like 20 lbs or something.

My 330ti's cf hood came from eBay and cost less than $300.
Be sure to move the battery to the trunk (if you already haven't).

started cracking quickly.
used to have some friends that owned a tuner shop that unfortunately didnt last long and they kept vis hoods in stock. horrible customer service from them when there was problems, and there seemed to be a lot of problems with cracking, fitting, and the glazing. i dunno. maybe it was just that run. and maybe it was just for the cars they were for (hondas mostly).
i dunno. leaves a bad taste in my mouth about vis.

why?

why? Because he has added 100+ pounds (S52 engine) to the front of his car. Putting the battery in the back corner will return some of the balance lost. I use a 13 pound Hawker Energy (http://www.stealth316.com/2-dynabatt.htm) SLA battery.

ah... and yes, I know all about Hawker Odyessy batteries. I am rocking their 925cca battery. Funny how most people do not trust it though, they are willing to put out the same amount of money on an optima that weighs the same as stock, but not the smaller and just as powerful drycells from Hawker?

How so? You still have a battery..just in the trunk now...and with the cables. Meh...I rather shed weight than just try to re-distribute 30lbs adding more along the way.

Please read my previous posts:

I understood that. I still would like to see how much the box and cables weigh. The 13 pound is definitely a step in the right direction. It along with a carbon fiber hood would be a nice offset to the swap....something I need to take care of.

The cable weighs less than 5 pounds.
