Black96m3 11-29-2006, 12:43 AM I might be interested in the header portion, why don't you lower your price if your not getting any bites?

I am open to offers, but the combo cannot be priced much lower. I mean I bought it for more than this.

I don't usually make smart ass comment on peoples threads but I just can't resist. Its called depreciation. Thing that are used go down in value. the more they are used the more they go down in value. You have used this part therefore its worth less than you paid for it. Sorry for the economics lesson.

I definitely respect the seller's wish to sell his items to gain as much back from his purchase and these are not really wear items in which go down in value after you use them. Of course a brand new item has more value than a used item. Also a new item from the retailer commands a higher dollar value than the same item sold by a third party.
My only point was that I've seen that you've had 2-3 other threads for your header/trackpipe combo with many posts each. I just figured at this point you'd lower your price to get some more interest. Time is money afterall.
In any case I hate to go off topic, good luck with your sale and if anyone takes the trackpipe portion I might be interested in the headers. Thanks.

Thanks. I wish you would have told me this before I paid 60k for my used E36 M3.
First off, your generalized "economics" lesson is more like common sense, not to mention not always true (plenty of things are used and increase in value). These headers have been used for less than 10,000 miles. These same HEADERS with the addition of a V-Band clamp sell for $1300 on AA's website WITHOUT a track pipe which is another $6-700 depending on application.
Furthermore, I also bought these headers and track pipe used. The only reason I have made three threads is becuase I have added picutres and information that I did not want to simply edit into other threads.
So next time you venture to make a "smart ass" comment, make sure you make it a more worth while addition to someone's thread and also make sure the OP does not know more about the subject you are trying to comment on (I have only taken a few 300+ level ECON courses in my day).:rolleyes
