I have an 81 633 CSI. A couple of weeks ago, my heater blower fan would only work on max. Now it has quit entirely. If I remove and re-install the fuse, I can hear a relay click, and I identified which one it is. Is it possible that the relay is not making proper contact causing it to not start? Or would it most likely be the motor itself or maybe the rotary control on the dash?

Any info would be most apreciated.

The old blower motors sometimes get stuck. You may be able to get some more mileage out of it if you give it a spin, through the grate underneath the cover in the engine bay. The relay is probably fine if you can hear it switching at the right time.

Thank you! The motor was stuck and I got it spinning again. I plan on leaving that cover off until I can fix/replace the fan in case I need to give it a spn again. It's open to the cowl area, is it going to pull cold air in from the outside? I can't see that the cover would insulate too much... I guess I'll figure that one out next time I go somewhere. :)

It still only works at maximum speed, so I imagine the rheostat that controls it has a problem. Anyone know if they are available?

Thanks again,

Trevor
