I have a 1994 540i and my guage cluster is telling me "engine oil low, owners manual" but i got no owners manual, so im afraid to drive it til i figure out wtf this is about! some one help...

Sorry, I'm a little out of it tonight :shifty

Anyway, yeah your going to want to add some oil. Get a rag, ppull out your dip stick, wipe it off and put it back in. Now take it out again and check where the level is. It should be between the two lines on the stick.

That might be a little difficult for the OP to handle, given their current dilema.

Be sure to remove funnel and replace the oil filler cap before starting the engine.

Make sure the dipstick is also replaced to it's orignal position as well before starting the engine.

Wow...that was rough guys...i really guess i didnt know how to ask the question. Will the light turn off after i add oil? or will i need to reset it somehow?!
