how do you remove the rear shelf/parcel? i need to get to the three bolts on the rear strut mounts. i know some have said that you dont need to remove it, but it just seems like it would be alot easier.

1. Pull up hard on the front edge of the rear seat bench. Remove the seat.

2. There are 4 plastic bolts holding the seatback onto the bulkhead. They're below the seatback, two near the middle armrest, two at the sides. There might be a couple more, I forget.

3. Lift the seatback up and out. It has a couple of hooks that hold it back, and that hold the parcel shelf down.

4. Remove the C pillar panels (might not be necessary, but it helps).

5. Lift the parcel shelf out. 'Tisn't hard.

Pop it off. Each pillar panel has three (or is it four?) snaps. Start by prying it out from the top, work your way down. I can take a photo if that helps.

There are also clips in the front of the parcel shelf. I just did my rear shock mounts and didn't remove the parcel shelf. I bent it up and out of the way. You are right though... it would be easier access if you remove the shelf.

if you have that photo handy then that would be great. no need to go out of your way to take pics though... i wont be starting this until after some shopping tomorow. I was just trying to prep the car a little today.

zman, when you did your shock mounts, were you able to put that rubber cover thingy back on? it was a pain to remove and i think it would almost be impossible to put back on.

I hate that rubber cover. I just got it on as good as I could. I'm not sure what purpose it serves. Maybe somebody else can let us know if it's really necessary to be on there.
