View Full Version : totalled M3
bburns 11-22-2006, 04:46 PM well i totalled my 97 M3 this morning. it has pretty severe body damage to the front, rear, and one side along with part of the front suspension being torn apart. car has 150,000 on it with a few performance upgrades. is anyone interested in it as a parts car or know of any BMW salvage yards in the area that might buy it? im just trying to figure out what to do with it. thanks, brad
PirateJake 11-22-2006, 08:16 PM sorry man... i hate to hear it
(i wouldn't mind getting my hands on M3 door sills if you're selling them)
dorejades 11-22-2006, 08:18 PM Part it out, youll get some money back
holdfastgreg 11-22-2006, 08:22 PM I might be interested in the vehicle. PM me with details and pictures. Thanks.
dakarGeorge 11-23-2006, 02:39 PM i'm sorry bud..i know what its like to loose one.

turbo8765 11-26-2006, 07:50 AM No injuries I hope?
What happened?
Part it out. What performance mods do you have??
I need a stock OBDII mid-pipe, how much do you want for yours?
Sorry for your loss.
holdfastgreg 11-26-2006, 02:06 PM Sorry I called dibs way before. Looking for a whole car!
bburns 11-26-2006, 08:02 PM sorry for not responding earlier, i've been cought up with the holiday and unable to check the thread.
Wed. morning i was going to work around 7:45 when it was poring rain. headed towards wake forest on I540 it hydroplaned at 55mph and sent me backwards through the center guardrail. luckily i wasn't injured at all, but the car is torn up pretty bad.
I'm looking to sell the car as a whole because i have nowhere to store it long enough to part it out(its $25 a day where it is right now so i need to do something soon). i will probably have pictures tomorrow. I have no idea of its value in its current condition so ill have to do a little research and see what i can come up with.
performance mods--less than 3000miles on a lightweight flywheel and stage II clutch, intake, exhaust, and conforti software
i will be going to clean all my things out of it tomorrow afternoon around 3:00 so if anyone is interested in seeing the car give me(Brad) a call (919)210-1614.
slowcheetah 11-27-2006, 12:30 AM If you do end up parting it out, let me know. I'd be very interested picking up the flywheel/clutch from you.
bburns 11-27-2006, 10:30 AM anyone feel free to make me an offer. three of the four sides are screwed up pretty bad and part of the front suspension has been ripped apart. interior is in good condition with some wear on the outter driver seat bolster and arm rest. 150,000 on the clock right now. i will have pictures up tonight or like stated above I will be cleaning the car out this afternoon around 3:00 if anyone wants to take a look
bburns 11-27-2006, 08:11 PM my memory card for the camera was messed up so i didn't get any pictures
i need to get this car moving somehow. if anyone is interested in the whole car, just make me an offer(i will take it as long as its reasonable). not much of the body is salvageable, but it ran good before the accident if anyone is interested in the engine/drivetrain. the front right suspension is trashed, but the rest is still in-tact. the best way to reach me is my cell (919)210-1614...the car needs to be gone this week. thanks, Brad
PirateJake 11-27-2006, 09:19 PM i would love the throw the 3.2 into my car but i'm (as always) a little too short on funds... good luck with the sale!
bburns 11-28-2006, 09:21 PM TTT any takers? make an offer, this thing has to move
bburns 11-29-2006, 07:32 PM I'm gonna have the salvage yard pick it up for damn near nothing tomorrow unless anyone wants to make an offer.....please call me if your interested (919)210-1614

I don't think bburns (the OP) is on here much anymore.
I bought his car- the engine is going into an E30, hopefully in the next couple of months.
