Well after tons of futile attempts I was finally able to coax the codes from the e34. I think I'm reading it right and I come up with 1444 (no codes). Do the codes continue to flash though?? I think it repeatedly flashes 1444, but I'm pretty dumb when it comes to interpreting these kind of things. Also, I followed the e34.net instructions and I held down the button by the tach and then turned the key. What do those codes mean?? I think I saw a mix of German words bitching me out about something but the rest was just a series of numbers and codes before the needles went crazy. Anyone know what they're for or what they mean?? Can the Canada spec cars have their codes pulled this way? I have a Canadian version and I've never been able to get it to work, but I might be doing it wrong.

The information that the instrument cluster gives when doing this "test" varies by model...but for the most part its not bitchin' at you but is revealing specific information about your car...it could be any, all, or a few of the below: production number last 7 digits of VIN Hardware/Software version numbers construction date instrument cluster pixel & gauge display test

Recommend full hands-on inspection.
