so i just realized something. theres not much left stock on my car, either from when i bought it or stuff i took off and threw out and bought new ... but the club sport only came in 95. my car was produced in 01/96. think i caught the end of the club sport?
what are the main points to tell the 2 apart.

95 Club Sport has ///M3 mirrors. My guess is you have a 96 Sport.
The photo in you sig is not a Sport.

well i've got the wide moldings. the motorsport strut tower caps. is there a good way to tell from the tag inside the door jam?

Going by the pic in your sig, you are missing the rear bumper that came with the sport package.

Previous owner installed them. Those caps are expensive for what they are.
You can't tell from the door tag.

You either have a base or active.
Do you have cruise control, computer? Then it might be an active.
If you have neither, then it's a base.
But it's not a sport unless it was in an accident and the body shop put on the wrong bumper cover.

man im so lost in this thread. my car is none of the above because its been so fuckin swapped. theres nothing factory on my car anymore except maybe the fenders quarters and chassis. oh well. got my hopes up for nothing.

You most likely have a 96 Sport. And Im guessing that youve left more then just the fenders and chassis stock because that rear bumper would be from a stock sport.

INCORRECT! That is NOT a Sport rear bumper.

Your car is either a Base or and Active Package...
It isn't a sport...

How does your interior look like?
Is it pure leather or pure cloth?...or did the previous owner change that too?

They were options for the Sport, I don't have either. My `95 Active did have the OBC and Cruise however.

kind of annoying and kind of awesome all at the same time.

club sport models came with a 3.64 limited slip differential. Unless the person was very thorough and got one of the very limited number of used limited slip differentials and intstalled it you will probably notice that its not a clubsport, thats the best way to check for a club sport. they all also came with a 2tone leather/cloth material that is specific to them.

It took me over 2 years to find a good one of those differentials for sale and it was expensive. i happened to find someone who had one and had totaled their TI before they swapped it in.

Clubsport models also dont have a sunroof btw they have a solid hardtop.

The Clubsport has the same 3.46 limited slip that was an option on the base models. They also did come with sunroofs, mine has one.

you are correct about the diff i confused the numbers on the ratio im sure i was baked.
