View Full Version : Bleh out test driving
cerealkiller93 11-17-2006, 03:13 PM well so far i've test drove a couple cars...
Last night i test drove a 94' 325is, car was absolutely beautiful. Started it up and it had 198K miles on it :shifty
it had all the maintence records from all three owners, this car was taken care of.... so i get going down the road and everythings fine and then i shift into 5th and it grinds... everytime i went into 5th it would grind. Of course the sales man said it didnt do that for him:rolleyes but he did admit that everyone that has drove it said the same thing.
i wont be buying that car, rest assured..
today i test drove a 98 740iL. It was a nice car and everything, but i dont think it would have suited my needs. Along with the cost of maintence, i couldnt have afforded it.
any body know any where else i should go look? I really need a car. I went to rent one today and they told me i have to full coverage... so i'm REALLY pissed about that... i think statefarm should cover that while i'm driving the car since the accident wasnt even my fault.
all i can say is :help

Josh K
i have an hour and a half if you can pick me up lol...
tommorrow i'm free till 4. Give me your number and we'll go look at it...
also how much are they asking? and how much you want for your e30?
(rememebr i'm looking for crackhead prices :alright :alright )
325i Vert 11-17-2006, 03:23 PM HA! The E30 is NOT for sale...This one is a keeper.
Sure thing. Im not sure on how much they are asking. I would highly doubt the price for that car is more than $5 or $6,000. What price range are you looking at? My buddy still has his 95' Dakar M3 for sale here in town for $12000, maybe a little less if its to one of my friends.
Josh K
cerealkiller93 11-17-2006, 03:30 PM i'm really not sure what my range is! waiting on that check! i'm also buying the other car back for parts... i mainly want my brakes off of it. and i'm going to part it out as well, and then take whats left to the crusher
if i find something nice enough i may try to get a loan.
325i Vert 11-17-2006, 03:42 PM The dakar is most definatly nice enough for someone to get a loan for. If I was in a better position, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Its about the same level as my 96 M was if that tells you how nice it is.

i'll check into a loan if thats the case.
325i Vert 11-17-2006, 04:29 PM Well, Say you finance the car for $12,000. I estimated this using a really high interest rate(12%). With financing exactly $12,000 your payment would be right at $266 a month. Thats not too bad. If you have money to put down, that would help even more obviously. Id say you could honestly get it down to between $180 and $200 a month with the money you get from your insurance company. Just something to think about....

cerealkiller93 11-19-2006, 12:39 AM lol
that white m3 at parker auto sales in east ridge is a fake.
the body is an m3, but last i checked m3's are faster then 325is's... and this thing was slower then my first calyposorot. :shifty
iwant740speed 11-19-2006, 01:00 AM i dont know what your complain bout lol i love our 98 740
cerealkiller93 11-19-2006, 01:39 AM i dont know what your complain bout lol i love our 98 740
wasn't any fun.
it was too much of a luxury car.
325i Vert 11-19-2006, 10:08 AM What is the VIN on that M3 Corey? I stopped and looked at it a while ago but I cant remember much about it.
Josh K
cerealkiller93 11-19-2006, 10:46 AM ehhhh didnt get the vin number, that would have been smart, since thats an easy way to spot a fake...
isnt it like, first letter is an S or something on all M cars??
EDIT: Nvm its the third letter. and its an A on all non-m cars.
325i Vert 11-19-2006, 10:56 AM Yes. All M cars start with WBS. Does this car have Vaders? I know it was a 95 and it has the year correct DS1's. If I remember correctly, it also has a pretty rare rear spolier. Why do you someone put an M50 in it? It could be an S50 that has just been ragged all to hell. The cars like 160,000 on it right? I think its just been ragged on a wee too much. Buy it and do a Euro S52 swap....:alright

the reason i think it has an m50 is because it hit the revlimiter at 6500... i was looking at it.
yes it had manual vaders, and ds1's. 169K miles to be exact.
i mean last i checked s50's hit their revlimiter at 7000, not 6500. And the car was running flawlessly. over all it was a very nice car, but that motor was not correct. he also had no records and said that it was bought at an auction.

yah the salesman let me give it a little hell, and at 100 i was playing with all the buttons....
