not in jersey, I went all the way out to Utica NY to get a motor, subframe transmission etc.

TRy a bimmer shop called KOZZ's. It is located on Rt 73 in Palmyra, Nj. I'm not sure if what he has out back is a junk yard, ut it sure looks like one from the highway. Good luck BruceY

the father owns the yard, the son is who I bought the stuff from. I'm still waiting for a few parts that he hasn't shipped out yet. :( it's delaying the project.

Ducky - That is where I got the tranny and diff. Did your dad go up there?

brad, i emailed them today and they don't have any of the parts I'm looking for...my dad is gonna stop by there and get some of the smaller stuff though on his way back (fogs, airdams, bumper grill, etc). There were lots of little things on this first estimate like that - were really expensive (bumper grill = $67.25!!?, airdams @ $22.25 each!!! fogs at $87.95 each!!?)

Given all parts were OEM but little stuff like that I could care less if it's made by BMW or not, as long as it works well.

Ducky - I would be very careful bringing your own stuff to the shop. Nickle and diming them can backfire big on you as it did with me. They are making 20% on the parts that they are listing and on such a small thing as you have all that is going to do is upset them. I asked if they minded me getting my own parts and what did it get me?? 4 months to get my car, a shitty job, talking from everyone from my former boss(lawyer) to the westchester attorney general about what my options were.

You might be able to get away with the fogs by saying that you had them already and maybe a couple of other parts. Just saving $10-20 on small parts is a easy way to upset them. Do not get used parts. They are more trouble then they are worth. It is just a good excuse to jack the price up later by saying that it took longer to prep them or whatever. It is one thing if you were able to find a Hellrot Red car but otherwise just not worth it. Again, speaking from experiance.

As far as installing the parts forget it, just more reason to screw with you. The labor rate isn't the same for all aspects of the job anyways. Usually body is a lot less (I have to check on this to be sure) Plus, I have seen you with cars;)

On a whole they aren't making much on your car. I know it sounds like a lot for what it looks like but you have a BMW. ;) They aren't cheap:( Actually, I don't think that thier body panel prices are that bad but might be wrong about that one. I have heard that from several racers who have raced several different brands of cars and didn't think that they were sooo outrageous as some might belive on the boards.

I am going to be around tomm if you want to stop by and see my estimate to compare prices. I am going over Corry's house to setup a network for a bit but that is about all. (other than working in the morning for a bit:))

If I think of anything else I will post it.

Bah, at times like this I wish I knew someone who did body work and wouldn't mind if I brought in my own parts. But it looks like I'll be going through insurance anyway so I'm just gonna make sure I can get everything I get out of it that's possible. Parents comprimised to cover some of difference until I "am able to pay them back".

We'll see what happens....

Ducky- I know what you mean!! I thought that the guys were cool with me brining in the parts and then shiet hit the fan!!! I wish I had a friend who did it. I think that insurance is the way to go. You know what shop I like:D Good luck!

I found a junkyard in South River new Jersey with about 6 or 7 E36 junked BMW's. I got all the small stuff that i needed like switches panels and wut not. They got all the cars, it just that their all banged up and sometimes u actually have to climb in there and grab the shit you need. Its called Michaelsons. Ha Ha. I remember I used to go down there back in the day (1983 RX-7 Widebody). You're right about the price gouging down there. They will jack up the prices in a minute !!!
