I have a shaft stereo in my '76 2002 and want to install a newer DIN style unit. I don't want to spend the $$$ right now on a Parker Performance gauge/stereo plate and crutchfield informed me that an install kit is not necessary.

Will a DIN (2" tall 7" wide) drop right into the stock console? I have not pulled out my shaft style stereo to check things out yet. What would support the DIN unit?

How did you guys run speaker wire into your door speakers? The previous owner did a wonderful ghetto fantabulous job running the door speaker wires between the door panels and the door frame. :eek: If you have some pictures of your install I'd love to see them.
