Hello,
This is my first post..
I own 2003 X5 with 25k + miles (yes that's right low miles).
After reading this forums, Here are my questions-
Again, Thanks for your time to read and appreciate very much if you could share your experience and advice.

Vehicle Info:
Model: 2003 x5 3.0
Miles: 25k+
Not original owner

1) I'm looking to buy extended warraty on my vehicle (bumper-bumper). Any suggestions? Does dealer sells warranty to second owner, if not what are my options?
2) I already purchased extended maintenance warranty that covers brakes, wipers etc for 100k miles, from the dealer in Fairfax, VA.
3) What are the frequent things that happen on this vehicle in long run?
4) Are there websites to buy parts online? Links please, thankyou.
5) I want to add bluetooth on this? has anyone done before? if so, appreciate if you could share how much would that cost?

This forums are really great, lot of stuff to learn, Thanks to all of you.

1. The dealer's extended warranty is pretty expensive. @ $2-3k last time I looked. I was fortunate in buying a CPO, but it doesn't cover bumper to bumper. Warranty direct is a good one from what I hear.
2. Extended maintenance is good, how much was that?
3. From my research here are the things that break, window regulators, CV joint boots, alternators (on the V8s),
control arms, tie rods, and front ball joints.
4. www.pelicanparts.com www.bmaparts.com have been good places for me to buy stuff.
5. IIRC bluetooth is pretty pricey @ $500 or so. Not worth it for me.

Thanks BJO for your reply with some good points-
1. While talking to the dealer, he said they don't accept warranty direct, don't know why. But interested to know.
2. I paid $1095 for extended maintenance, I don't think this is the best price.
3. Your research is valuable, thanks for sharing. Any others?
4. Thanks for the links.
5. I'm still researching-

If you choose to go w/ warranty like I did, be care about how much of a covered repair they will cover. For example I had a blower fan resistor go out, the total cost was 300 but the warranty said the repair cost coverage was $168 so I was stuck with the rest. There was not a single place in the MN market that would do the repair for $168. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
