I think that should answer ur Q buddy.:) My Q buddy has a basis. Sport from the 530 & 540 mirrors were round, and there have been M5's with blinkers in the mirror housing. Thank for clarifying that buddy, none of which was in the original posting, buudy. NickAD 11-16-2006, 11:39 PM My Q buddy has a basis. Sport from the 530 & 540 mirrors were round, and there have been M5's with blinkers in the mirror housing. Thank for clarifying that buddy, none of which was in the original posting, buudy. OEM e39 mirrors were always the standard square ones unless you have an M5 in which case they were the more rounded ones. The sport package never got rounded mirrors. Not even the later models available with the M-appearance package got the M5 mirrors. Also, I don't think I've ever seen OEM M5 mirrors with blinkers on them. I believe the ACS style mirrors have those though. Jackcat559 11-16-2006, 11:50 PM Then I stand corrected. Shardul 11-17-2006, 11:30 AM someone get these off my hands. OlyVR 11-17-2006, 11:53 AM Toss them on flea-bay. Sold mine for $130 plus shipping. Shardul 11-17-2006, 12:00 PM Toss them on flea-bay. Sold mine for $130 plus shipping. Good Idea. acschnitzerbill 11-18-2006, 08:11 AM Look at my Mirrors. I replaced the OEM with tear drop style mirrors. I FLEA Bayed mine for 250 dollars because the Heated blue glass cost 400 Dollars PLUS by your local BMW Thief. ekset22 11-22-2006, 09:51 AM Are they square or round? Pics? they r square and ugly but there are variety of round m5 type mirrors that are available for you application even with an outter clear lens like the mercedes mirrors with turn signals.it really make a difference and will even make your car look nicer and more updated.or look up hagus m3 mirrors i am sure you will like them. bhauman 11-22-2006, 12:37 PM My M5 side mirrors fogged up and I didn't like the parabolic shape that made objects appear smaller than actual. Therefore, I removed the glass and replaced them with flat mirrors cut at a glass shop for $5 each. Once the frame was out I had to break the old mirrors and use a razor blade to cut the old glue from around the plastic moulding and frame to get them out. No big deal. The adjustmnet motors still work fine, just no more automatic dimming or heated glass. My interior rear view mirror automatic dimming feature also went belly up so I made a template and had another mirror cut that I glued with glass glue directly on top of the old mirror. Would have removed the glass but didn't find a way to remove it since it's integrated with the rain senor and no apparent screws. Only problem is that you have to move the mirror at night, just like the good old manual days. Rear view is now crystal clear and being a purist I like the simplicity, and cost avoidance on my older 2000 model. Bennji |
