View Full Version : Fender Rolling
Chapel 12-24-2002, 11:47 PM anyone have the tool
if not
who wants to get their fenders rolled?
We can make a "Fender Rolling GTG", rent the tool and have a whole day to roll everyone's fenders.
Qazimov 12-25-2002, 02:01 AM If I did that, would I just have to get some spacers or something to run the riims outside of the wheels far enough to warrant rolling them like that?
I like the look of cars that I've seen do that (properly, w/ adjusted supension and such) but I've also heard that using spacers will cause more wear to the wheel berrings, because it moves the center of the load on the setup further out, not centered on the berring, making extra steress on the outside ring. Anyone know if that is the case, or if it doesn't really cause that much issue?
I'm not sure how far you guys are willing to drive, but my friends father owns a shop down here that has one for us to use. I also have a friend in RI that would rent his out to us.
I'm in Fall River, MA.. about 45 mins south of Boston.

bimmer143 12-29-2002, 02:39 PM Owen, I need to roll my fenders bad!! Chapel, lets get something together!!
Chapel 12-29-2002, 04:28 PM I just want to have the option for 9" rears...
I dont even need it right now...
my "friend" said $35 per fender or 125 for all four. I think thats a rip-off... I'm going to ask someone else, hopefully he'll offer it cheaper.
bimmer143 01-01-2003, 10:15 AM Owen, thats not too bad. If you can find it cheaper I'm down. Keep me informed!! Happy New Year:buttrock

That's pretty funny.... Here in NY, to have it done properly by a shop with the tool it's $50 per corner! $35 is a decent price....
To Chapel, IF BY SOME CHANCE you can find the tool, I would reccommend against trying that yourself....it's NOT that easy...and requires a good bit of know-how. Paint needs to be heated to prevent cracking...etc etc...
As for fitting 9 inchers.....thats easily achieved depending on the offset of the rim. Guys have put 9s with 255s that required no rolling.... depends on your suspension/drop/and rim offset....
rolling is always the safe way to go though....but have it done by a pro...

Yeah, I was thinking that wasn't a bad price. I'd rather have a prof. do it for $35 per fender, than risk messing it up myself.
Chapel 01-01-2003, 06:32 PM hmm
we'll see what turns out.
well if anyone is still interested I can still have my buddy do this for any of you. $35 a fender or $100 for all four
