I'm planning to either get the 335i or wait for the new M3. Besides the obvious performance advantage, I'm a bit worried about the exterior look.
Based on the images I'm seeing, I only see the side grill and the slight bump on the front hood, any other major differences you know about? Shouldn't the M3 have a much more unique distintive look?

Also, is there going to be a 4-door M3? That would be great for us family guys.

Thanks.

I've heard some some 4 door M3s in camo out in california, so my guess would be yes.

Among other things the E92 M3 should have lower side skirts, more aggresive bumper, sportier wheels, hood bump, widebody/flared fenders, quad exhausts, rear lip or possibly CSL style trunk lip.

I am in the same boat as you though. If the E92 M3 doesnt look that great then I will probably save my money and get a 335i...

I dont care just about looks but I have driven a 335i and the performance is awesome. I dont know if 15k or more is worth 100hp? (I know its more than just HP for you smart A$$'s)

Having driven the 335, I'd imagine that the M3 will be a MUCH more exciting experience.

But, to most casual observers, the M3 will look like a 335 with conservative body kit and bigger wheels/tires - similar to the old e36 days.

i used to think the e90 looked like garbage based on the spy photos. i'm sure it will look much better when it is unwrapped and released

Well, clearly, there is the same antenna on the top of the car, so you'd have to imagine that one is for testing purposes. I might be wrong, but that would make no sense considering none of the new models have it as well.

When is the m3 scheduled to come out? I think they are waiting to unveil it because they want to increase their 335 sales while they are hot. I think in a few months they will unveil it and start hyping it.

just think about this... the 335 is twin turbo.. open market for mods..

dont get me wrong the new M3 has a nice stance to it but v8 vs v10
I would take the M6 or M5 ova the new M3 anyday

All of the concept pics of the E92 M3 have been boring. Looks like just another 3 series with lower-hanging body panels. Yawn. I was hoping for fenders with some SERIOUS beef and a mean stance. :(

I have a 335i, I'd imagine that in 6 months...I can spend 5K in mods and get it fairly close to 400 horses. I also live at 7,000 feet which means a loss in approximately 20% of horsepower for normally aspirated engines...that means, for me, that I can walk the M3s...at least in the privacy of my own mind.

What is the expected price differential between the two cars?
