I am in the market for another car. I have narrowed my choices down and the 745i and 745Li are sitting on top of my list. I am not buying new. I would rather let the first buyer take the initial hit. I have a few questions.
Are there any years to avoid?
Are there any features to avoid?
Is there anything I should be looking for?
What are the major problems these cars had/have?
Thanks

2002 and 2003s have the most issues. As would any 1st and 2nd year car of anything out there.
Check to make sure you have a black battery. The white ones were on these early models and in MANY cases they need to be replaced with the Black ones.
If you can find one w/o the "massage your butt" feature you are better off, they have been known to pop and ruin the seat and air bag modules on the bottom side of the seats.
Avoid cars with the Tire Pres. Monitor that has individual sensors in each wheel (including the spare) they seem to have ALOT more issues than those with the standard TPM system.
Avoid any car that the last owner has gone excessively over there oil change intervals. (I've personally seen a new 745i come in at 28k for it's first oil service).
