Hi all!

I've been trying to solve a hesitation problem that occured under "stomp" situation while standing in PARK. Sounds like the engine "drowns" before picking up the RPMs. Almost stalls. During gentle pressing of the "go" pedal, the RPMs ramp up fine all the way up.

So far, over the course of a year, I have replaced the head gaskets (inner and outer), spark plugs, MAF sensor, fuel filter and fuel pump. The problem remained. Visually, cats and mufflers look good, no rattling.

I have recently (about a week ago) had an indy mechanic replace the intake manufold gaskets and while there, replaced the OSV, knowing that it is a weak link and although I didn't exibit the symptoms, did it anyway as a preventative maintenance. Bunch of new gaskets, including Throttle Body gasket and misc. o-rings in the area as well.

A week after that procedure (yesterday), my yellow CEL light came on and stays on. After a quick run to AutoZone to read the code(s) today, the 2 codes are:

P1341
P1349

It may be something related to cats and "evaporator", but I can't find the descriptions on E38.org or here, doing a search for "1341" or "1349"

Can anybody please shed some light on the problem?

The E38 is a '99, build 12/98, with about 81K miles on her.

Thanks!

Just found these:

P1341 Multiple Cylinder Misfire With Fuel Cut-off
P1349 Misfire Cylinder 4 With Fuel Cut-off

The car drives as it did before the light went on and before the Intake Maniford gaskets were replaced. I can't help but think that this CEL appearance is related to the recent repair.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

My uneducated guess:
- ignition coils
- fuel injectors
- DME

Does anything noticable happen when you start the car (cold)?

Nope, nothing out of ordinary.

From a fellow here who didn't need it anymore.
