IrishTarmac 11-09-2006, 02:16 PM claying removes all old wax and impurities so you could do it today but you'd need to wax it again afterwords. Try wizards for a good cheap polish. ///M :) BMoW 11-09-2006, 02:50 PM if you clay you will have to wax again. I would feel where the clay is necessary and do it in those places, so that you don't have to rewax the whole car. Jen@autogeek 11-09-2006, 05:52 PM How long has it been since you clayed last? You can do a "clay bag test" to see if it's time to clay again. Place your hand inside of a plastic ziplock type bag and place your hand with the bag over it on your car's paint. Rub your fingertips back and forth over the paint from inside the bag and if you feel gritty particles it's time to clay. Pinnacle's Ultra Poly Clay is the only clay that I know that will not remove wax so if you use another clay you will have to re-wax after. Ultra poly clay has been dubbed an "enthisiasts" clay meaning that it was designed for people who keep their vehicles in top condition already and who would like to clay more often at the first signs of contamination. It can be used as often as you want, and will not remove wax or sealant, but it is not intended for heavy contamination so depending upon what your clay bag test reveals you could use either the ultra poly clay and not have to wax or a regular clay and re-apply the wax. :) Baggins22 11-09-2006, 06:56 PM i dont mind re waxing, i just didnt know if the clay would get the dirt under the wax becuse its so fresh Khiladi1020 11-09-2006, 07:04 PM Most clay will remove the wax, so if you feel you need to clay, do so, but then follow it up with a re-wax.
