It appears the sunroof on my E30 needs some attention. How bad does this look and would claying clean the effected areas? Please advise.

i doubt clay with take that out... seems like something etched in the paint in the last photo... might want to take it to a good detailer in your area and just have him do the roof for a small fee, if not the whole car
or try it yourself with some polishes, although i don't think you can do much by hand with that

looks like a waterspot etchings. It can be taken our fairly easily. Where are you? maybe I can help you get rid of it since i'm heading down to LA tomrorow.

Ok, thanks. I would be curious to find out the polish and application - PC, circular, pad selection. Again, I'm always trying to learn especially with significant results like what you guys experienced. Great job.

hey, i just got back from LA and back in berkeley. Rob is such a cool guy to work with :)! I had a great time being there. I'll post my procedures later... gotta crash the bed after the 8 hour drive :'(.

WHat did you guys use to get those etchings off. I have the same thing on my 911 and I can't get it off. I've clayed, polished, waxed, glazed, you name it.

ok, here's the full procedure I did,

Wash gold class
clay mothers clay bar
wash again gold class
dry ww towels
Polished car with OP on speed 5-6 with White Pad
Polished the troubled spots with a rotary, orange pad, HTEC/OP 900 to spread, and worked at it around 1100 rpm.
Waxed with NXT with White pad (don't have finishing pad yet) on pc 3.
