gf has an x5, the windshield wipers just stopped working, tried all settings to no avail. I think it may be the motor, has this ever happened to you guys?

we had the same problem on a 325 touring, BMW put a new motor in it FOC as it was under warranty. Im not sure if its the same but the 325 wouldn't let the wipers keep on going when stationary? Just ittermitently.

It was a few loose screws in the rain, that were the issue. Some fickle things, thats all. If it was dry it would have been easier to do right then and there.

The problem is that the bolts that hold the motor bracket loosen. Then the motor jams. Remove the plastic shroud and tighten the bolts. Very simple although, of course, they only stop when it is really pouring!
