View Full Version : 2007 BMW X5 third row seating option is a welcome addition
redwinenj 11-08-2006, 07:23 AM During the last decade, the SUV revolution produced a new breed of family vehicles with comfortable seating plans and expanded cargo space. Most SUV designs provide room that a four-door sedan could never come close to attaining yet, there was still something missing for families that needed maximum seating, comfort and convenience. With the release of the 2007 X5, BMW has come one step closer to the ideal SUV design with its new third row seating option.

Not just for large families, the new third row seating option is the perfect solution to shared transportation arrangements that require a few more children to be added at a moments notice. In the past, the BMW X5 accommodated three children comfortably in the rear seat. Today, the new 2007 X5 third row seating option gives drivers more flexibility without comprising comfort or safety.

Unlike competing designs that cut down on cargo space in order to accommodate a larger seating plan, the 2007 BMW X5 provides a sizeable cargo space, even when the optional third-row seat is in use. On those days when your need for cargo space outweighs seating capacity, fold down the third-row seat. With the seat down, there will be more than enough space to load sporting equipment, groceries, or a space for the family pet.

BMW has worked hard to satisfy the customer’s demands and has released the redesigned 2007 X5 so that families no longer have to take multiple cars, make multiple trips, or sit uncomfortably together when needing to transport more than five people. Spacious, luxurious, and sporty, the 2007 BMW X5 purchased with the optional third-row seat, is a dream come true.

madsedan 11-08-2006, 10:18 AM Sounds remarkably like spam for Circle BMW, do you work for them?
RichP 11-08-2006, 01:03 PM I just lost ALOT of respect for CircleBMW. Spam is bad, saying you are a CUSTOMER is even worse.

Oh my gosh-darn-it... this is a info-mercial post; if they are paying you for being stealth their money is surely wasted.
redwinenj 11-13-2006, 08:38 AM I'm new to the forum an apologize if this posting was considered spam. To set the record straight, I've been a customer of Circle since 1994 and have purchase many cars from them. I am not an employee. I do not get paid to write blogs postings for Circle.
I am a writer for my own website which covers community events and wine reviews in Monmouth County NJ. I visited the dealership recently, loved their new showroom and facilities, was invited to the event and plan to attend this event.
I thought to write about it because I am in the market for the new X5 and the third seat option was one of the newer features I liked. I promote events in Monmouth County free of charge for my own website and found that there were BMW blogs and the thought was the share this event with your readers.
If this was perceived as spam, please delete the posting. I did not mean to cause a negative response.
When I write wine reviews and give scores to wines I like, you could infer that I'm promoting a wine or even making money from giving a wine a good score. That is not the case. In the same way, I love to write about good things in my area and have written hundreds of free articles on my non-commercial website, promoting good businesses, and I apologize if this violated forum policies.
JTBMW 11-20-2006, 12:09 PM Love the new X5 and just drove it on Saturday. but the third row seating is just a once and while thing. its only made for people 5' 6" and shorter. but the SAV is sweet all around
jr1966 11-20-2006, 07:23 PM The 3rd row seating has become very important to me now that I have a growing family. It is a welcome & not-so-welcome addition to the X5 depending on how a person views the purpose of the vehicle. For having 3rd row seats that limits height to 5'6", that is ok but not good enough for most adults on longer trips but great for kids. My case, I would rather have my kids sit in the middle row for better isolation from rear impacts so my preference is to have extra adults sit in the 3rd row. Even though my previous X5 doesn't have any 3rd row seating and the fact that I already knew last year that the new generation X5 will have them, I traded it in for an LR3 which can accommodate 6-footers in the 3rd row comfortably.

Boo LR3 cheers for LX470...
Wondering if you tried the LX470... better realiability, adult size third row, still the lux feel

I hate Toyotas in tuxedos. And I really don't like the LX470. My LR3 has been reliable since day 1, better "adult-size with knees down" 3rd row seating that disappears on the floor rather than hanging sideways by the rear window, and still have that luxury feel. Better looks, more "wow" factor, more masculine, more exclusivity (at least in my area) compared to the LX.
No offense but I look at the LX 470 as the SUV for grandpas and grandmas with a ride, interior and noise level designed to put them in isolation with the looks that is "teenage mutant ninja turtle" fugly.
JTBMW 11-22-2006, 11:37 AM ^^^^^^ well said
Mazinkaizer 11-22-2006, 02:05 PM I hate Toyotas in tuxedos.
+1, they are nothing but an European car wannabe. Also, remember, there's no such thing as "Lexus" in Japan.
mbmclaughlin 11-24-2006, 10:07 PM I visited your Z3 thread. It looks like your group of owners have more serious problems than mine, but it still doesn't absolve BMW from their responsibility to address the chronic problem that I have experienced. I am a business man and if I treated my customer the way BMW does I would not survive. Why do they?
IrvRobinson 11-28-2006, 08:33 AM I think the '07 X5 is a very welcome change,BMW listened to the customers and made most of the correct changes.I really don't think the 3rd row will account for 60% of the sales, since is is really limited to 5-6 year olds, any younger, they need car seats, any older, they're usually too big to sit back there for any length of time.Another 6 inches longer might have made a big difference but everything else is great.
IrvRobinson 11-28-2006, 08:35 AM btw,the X5 can withstand a 50mph impact from the rear, with little to no injury to the 3rd row occupants !
toolfan 11-28-2006, 12:18 PM The new X5 is awesome! Although, I think they should have made it 6" longer as well. With the X6 possibly coming out, I dont see why they need 3 SAV's unless one is definately longer and has a better 3rd row seat. I would never get the 3rd row because I dont want that many kids, but I would definately get the new X5. I love the upgraded interior, seats, I-drive, etc.

Lexus owner do not belong here. They have NO idea what a car should feel like. I've owned a GS300 (wife's car) and couldn't wait to get out of that lease. The thing drove like a boat and it's suppose to be the "sporty" model.
The LX is just a floaty barge. All Toyota SUV's drive like cr@p. They have NO steering feel and the suspension is just mush. My X5 feels so much better than that "sporty" Lexus.
