There are foot protection bars that extend forward and terminate on a plate welded to the firewall, both passenger and driver. In the rear there is sort of a box above the gas tank, connecting the rear sides together. You can see a little of it in the shots of the blue car.

He's bending the tubing by hand (i.e. not a pneumatic bender). I wonder if he'll look like Popeye before this is through.:D

I agree with Bryan that the comment was uncalled for. It is a derogatory term that in no way represents her. I know that was not Maranellowoman's intent at all, nonetheless, it was inappropriate. I wish my SO would work on my car. She and Seb are great people and I have had the pleasure of spending time with them at a couple of events.

Back to the thread: nice work, Seb. Is the SE36 cage legal? Did not know you were allowed to cut sheetmetal in order to accommodate a cage design.

I've seen that girl at several events and she seems to have it all together as far as crewing goes. More so than most guys. :stickoutt

A couple of things on that SE36 cage. One I didn't know you're allowed to notch the body to accomodate tubing. That's a structural member you're notching also is it not? Also on the diagonal for the main hoop in the one car (the mod class one) it is clear that it's attaching to the main hoop and maintaining the plane. On the SE36 one maybe it's the angle of the pic but it looks like it's attaching to that lower cross tube and not the main hoop. That would be a no-no. Hopefully it's just the bad angle thing with the pic. Edit: I looked at it again and that part looks fine, nevermind.

The lower x going into the trunk should really tie into the same point as the harness bar not above it. Anyway I'm fairly picky about cages but the fab work looks very nice, the welding looks quite nice as well. :thumbup: Sorry didn't mean to criticize but you post it here and it'll receive some feedback. :D

The term is a common slang expression--without being derogatory--for a butt tattoo. If the original poster was willing to post a picture of this talented woman with her thong & tattoo blatantly showing, I sure as hell would hope he'd be ready for some sarcastic comments.

Do you mean the hood release? It could be relocated or maybe they're going with pins on the hood.

I would not assume the notching is legal.

I can't even get my wife to sit in the passenger's seat of anything I own let alone stick her hands in to help out. She did help me bleed my brakes one night but I had to put up with the yakkin' the whole time about how much money I waste in racing......blah blah I get the babysitter or the neighbors son to press the brakes.

Ho well, I am really dissapointed of a bunch of you. We come down here to work and make the CR car safer and help you guys out and I read all those stupid comments on a picture of Julie that are pretty much immature and disrespectful to her. That #@$##$ pisses me off. Most of you met her at the track and probably made lunch or helped you out at one point or another, she in no way deserves those kinds of comments.

This is how rules get bent, then many people start bending them, then the rules have to be changed to accomodate all the rule benders (or breakers). NOTE: I have no idea if it's legal or not ... just want to point out that when you ass-u-me ... well, you know.
