Ridgeway 11-07-2006, 07:18 PM :b_yellow henkelphoto 11-07-2006, 10:43 PM Hi Jackcat! We've got a non-M Z4 coupe. Really like it! I can't imagine what the M coupe must feel like when you punch it, this one really flies! My last car was a E36M3. Now I feel neglected. Ridgeway 11-08-2006, 06:47 PM Anyone used to have a M car? I recently sold my e36 m3. KPACOTKA 11-08-2006, 08:36 PM What's M? Jackcat559 11-08-2006, 10:07 PM :biglaughc Ahh, nice to see you guys jeep tj 11-09-2006, 03:43 PM yup still here seems like it is turning into an M site now:confused Ridgeway 11-09-2006, 03:58 PM yup still here seems like it is turning into an M site now:confused well until recently this forum was nigh on dead I'd say it's just the influx of new owners that seem to have migrated here post M & facelift, who are predominantly M, who are posting hence giving it the M slant or bias... EskerCurve 11-09-2006, 06:09 PM 2003 2.5i here =D. And will own it for quite some time ... at least until the Z2 comes out (if it comes out) here ... IF it has a stronger engine. Jackcat559 11-09-2006, 08:06 PM :drink1 Don't get me wrong the M's are a part of the Z4 line, I just don't want to see the non-M's left in the dust here. bimmurrr 11-10-2006, 06:01 PM well until recently this forum was nigh on dead I'd say it's just the influx of new owners that seem to have migrated here post M & facelift, who are predominantly M, who are posting hence giving it the M slant or bias... :evil2 REVENGE of the MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMz :evil2 j/k Roland 11-10-2006, 07:01 PM They make a non-M?:lol G95M3 11-14-2006, 03:10 PM Hey previous e36 M3 owners, how does the Z4 stack up? I had a 95 coupe and then a 97 sedan that I finally sold last year. It was just getting older and I feared major problems in the future. I miss the M3s very much and thought that a Z4 might come pretty close to the fun of the M3. Any comments on that? I really just want a newer e36 M3 but I haven't quite found out what that is yet. I feel like an e46 M3 or a Z4 M is a totally different car from the e36 M3. I was thinking e46 330i performance package or a 3.0i/si Z4. Thanks guys. No doubt the fun factor is right up there. I'd be hard pressed to pick a clear winner, but I'd give the nod to the Z4 for several reasons: 1) Topless, 'nuff said 2) Newer, less problems lead to a better driving experience, not having to worry about what will break next or what that sound is 3) e36 interior is quite dated/poor; the z4 updates it while keeping/adding the important elements --> small/thick wheel, great seats (M seats are better than vaders, base seats are much worse), etc. 4) Z4 'feels' more nimble to me, perhaps b/c of the size (I prefer smaller cars), or vast difference in tire quality that both my cars had The e36 is more raw and the Z4 more tamed...take what's important 2 you from that... Bottom line I have just as much or more fun in my Z4, if slightly slower. ;) Jackcat559 11-14-2006, 05:25 PM My wife summed it up one day when she said "no matter what mood your in when you drive this car you always smile" We have owned 5 BMW's and this is the only time she has said this. I think the Z4 is more fun to drive for all the above reasons. It also feels and looks like a lot newer. No sloppy shifters or squeaky clutch pedals, or rattling doors... very nice. wunderkind 11-22-2006, 12:10 PM 04 2.5 Alpine White here....At least till May. yeah what's happnin' in May? Upgrade to an M? BTW, nice Alpine White you got there. It seems that most Z4s are greys and silvers.... nothing wrong with it but I like diversity. :buttrock Silenxtace 11-22-2006, 12:31 PM blk/blk 3.0si coming from a sedan... this car is just a blast to drive! :D G95M3 11-22-2006, 10:53 PM The e36 is more raw and the Z4 more tamed...take what's important 2 you from that... My father picked up a 98 M3/4. Took it out for a little blast last night, man do I miss those cars. They just do everything right. I need to get my hands on a Z4 for a good drive. |
