Well at least the tail of my e36 wasn't cut off and replaced by an E30's. ;)

I really hate the ti's in my area because they are either dressed as an M3 or as a rice mobile. :rolleyes

And so it begins. That didn't take very long. :moon heh heh heh

I figure that the only car I have a right to be critical of is the one that I've paid for. And I'll care what other people think of my car when... Hmmm... actually, I don't think I ever will. LOL

Were not available so had to settle for this.

Really? I didn't know. I guess I'll have to look harder next time.

Well, the ones that are riced out with a huge wing, body kit, and fart can exhaust still irk me.

it's just the ones I see with M3 badges all over them
Oh, now I understand what you meant by that. LOL Mine had ///M badges on the front and back, and an ///M logo on the steering wheel. Those were the second things I took off the car after I bought it. (The pinstripes were first). Anyway... I agree with you, because as I understand it, an "M-Tech" is not the same thing as an "M."

Jut because our car lacks a trunk, does not make it a BMW, We have all the same parts, same engine (depending on the car) same interior, etc. IF we want we can drop any e36 engine in it. Also to make any bmw an m3 would require m3 parts, so a ti with m3 parts is an m3. M-tech is not M3.

Also a "ricer" is not every Asian auto, a Ricer is a tricked out front wheel drive Asian auto. A RWD Asian auto is another type of car that deserves a better rep.

So just because our car is a bit different in style, does not give anyone the right to bash on it.

not a bad idea, but in EURO (don't know if you got them in US) we got the BMW 1-series it's a hatch also but I don't like it very much, a new 3-series hatch is what I'm looking for :D

I believe I read in bimmer magazine that there are no plans to bring the one series to the states. I did see a video from the best car show ever....Top gear..doing a review between the one and the vw. I think they said they felt the 1 series was over priced.

yes overpriced, under powered, not worth the money.

MATES I GOT A VIDEO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf5769T-VyQ

I am sure the 2008 model will have a bigger egine, like maybe a 2.5 or higher, then the car will be loved.

HOPE FOR THE 1 SERIES!!

I would still take one...but benz and bimmer have never gotten good sales results out of hatchbacks in this country.

Some facts might help put these arguments in perspective. For calendar year 2005, BMW NA sold 3,660 "sport wagons," including both new and old 3 Series, 5 Series, and all-wheel-drive versions of these models, making total wagon sales less than 2% of total BMW car sales of 197,833. By comparison, BMW NA sold 7,238 318ti Compacts in 1996---nearly 7% of 105,761 total sales. 318ti sales slipped to less than 4,000 in 1998, the last full year of sales for this model, but still accounted for 3% of total U.S. BMW car sales. How do you measure success?
You don't see BMW dropping Tourings.

It would be way cheaper just dropping in an M52 engine/tranny/diff than paying to import a 323ti, if you can do the job yourself.

Im fine with the ti only coming with the 4 cyl. That makes them undesireable and therefore cheaper to buy as project cars. Then you can have a light chassis with what ever engine you choose to swap into it (what ever engine you want as long as it was made by BMW).

I have to admit an LS2 sounds pretty fun in a TI. My original plans for my past E30 318is was an LS1 swap but too pricey and time consuming while I was still in high school, the 6 cylinders drop in like cake.

it also makes it more affordable for ricers to buy and mess up. you win some you lose some.

drives like stock except its just really peppy. it also used to be an automatic but you'd never be able to tell. i like it. drives better in my opinion than a regular 328. intake and exhaust is all i have done.

yeah i did an e30m3 3.73 lsd. made the car a lot quicker. i have ground control coilovers with bilsteins on the rear so its really stiff back there and h and r full coilover in the front. so the car rides really smooth and stiff.

So true, but thankfully most ricers would rather have a civic or a AE-86 before they messed with a German.
