I came across a smoking deal on a set Goodyear 215/45/17's and I would like to put them on my E34 Touring with M5 rep wheels if possible. Do you think I will run into any handling or weight issues with this narrow of a tire? I currently am running a set of 15" chrome bottlecaps I can not wait to get rid of. :D

I think they are going to be WAY too small a diameter... Those are honda sized tires...

I have 245/40/18s, which is pretty dang close to a 245/45/17 in terms of overall diameter... and the speedo and OBC are radar verified dead nuts accurate at 90 mph. SO they are the correct overall diameter.

this means your speedo will be way of, you'll turn more RPMs for the same real MPH, your actual fuel consumption will go up... only positive is you'll have a little more uumph off the line.
